Please note that the entire valley is car free and cars have to be left in Pontresina. Guest can reach the hotel by bike or on foot, as well as on cross-country or touring skis in winter season.

On prior request, the hotel can also arrange a pick up by a horse carriage from the Pontresina train station. Contact details are stated in the booking confirmation.

Also, a bus shuttle service from the Pontresina train station to the hotel is available on prior reservation at 10:30, 17:00 and 18:00.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. Pros:

The staff were outstanding - so friendly and helpful! The cuisine was first-class. Stunning location.

Nothing we didn't like, but a few comments: we all agreed that the food and wine prices were very high. We understand the location and country factors, but even in comparison to fine dining in France, the prices were very high - and there are no easy options for dining elsewhere, so one is captive to these prices. Also, the rooms did not have hairdryers or coffee/tea facilities. Whilst there may be arguments to be made for fire risks, ease of cleaning, etc, a hotel of this standing should put their guests' comfort first, and take an example from similar hotels. Particularly in this location, it would be nice to simply enjoy a cup of tea in bed on a snowy morning. At the very least, guests should be able to help themselves free of charge at any time (not just in the morning) to a hot drink. We have enjoyed this facility many times at mountain hotels, and it is much appreciated. Finally, there is no indoor lounge - the staff are very welcoming about allowing guests to sit inside at tables all day long (and of course, there is an outdoor terrace). But in inclement weather, not having anywhere comfortable to sit and read a book is a major drawback. And the bedrooms are extremely basic - ours just had two wooden chairs, which did not provide for sitting and heading or relaxing in comfort. Having said that, we knew about some of these issues beforehand, so these are merely comments - and we did enjoy our stay very much.

Die Lage ist einmalig.

Cons:

Wir hatten ein Zimmer fast unten im Keller. Es war im Lagerhaus. Die Luft war sehr schlecht und die Ausstattung wie aus den 80er Jahren. Das Bett, welches aus zwei Einzelbetten bestand, war sicherlich auch schon 30 Jahre alt und extrem unbequem. Der Preis vo. CHF 250.- ist definitiv zu viel.

Een prima hotel op een magische locatie
Pros:

Dit is een mooi en authentiek hotel met een prima keuken, maar vooral de locatie... is geweldig! Wij hadden vanuit onze kamer uitzicht op het Bernina massief. Vanaf het hotel zijn er prachtige routes, niet in de minste die naar de Tschierva hütte. De machtige lammergieren zijn nooit ver weg. En in de herfst komen er de prachtige goudgele larixen bij. Magische plek.

Sehr schönes Hotel in bester Lage! Schönes, grosses Vierbettzimmer, alles sehr ordentlich, tiptop sauber und liebevoll dekoriert.
Sehr gutes Restaurant mit freundlichem, zuvorkommendem Personal. Das Dessertbuffet ist der Hammer!
Frühstück top mit feinen, frisch zubereiteten Eierspeisen und schönen Buffet mit lecker Kuchen.
Ausblick traumhaft und einmalig!

Wirklich tolle Lage und guter Ausgangspunkt, um auf die Coaz Hütte aufzusteigen.
Leckeres Essen, aber zu gehobenen Preisen.

Cons:

Schon etwas teurer Fahrradverleih um die 8 km ins Tal, sprich 20 Minuten mit dem Rad zu überbrücken… 25 Fr. sind für diese echt kurze Strecke und ein klappriges Rad echt kein Schnapper. Aber schön, dass es überhaupt angeboten wird.

Rundum eine Oase zum wohlfühlen. Komme sicher wieder. Hat man ein Problem, wird gehandelt und nicht ignoriert, was den Wohlfühlwert erhöht. Dankeschön ☺️

Cons:

Die Matratze war ausgedient. Nachdem ich es beanstandet habe, wurde zeitnah gehandelt und ich bekam eine supergute. Mein Schlaf war gesichert.
