NOTHING TOO MUCH TROUBLE, FRIENDLY YET COURTEOUS.
Pros:

THIS WAS A FLYING VISIT TO SEE A FRIEND.
ON THIS OCCASION WE STAYED IN A DIFFERENT ROOM - LOVELY AS ALWAYS - TEA/COFFEE AND HOMEMADE BISCUITS! THE QUALITY OF THE ROSE & CROWN FULL ENGLISH BREAKFAST WAS SUPERB, ALSO THE PORRIDGE WITH FRUIT COMPOTE. BOTH WERE DELICIOUS (AS ALWAYS) AND SET US UP FOR THE DRIVE HOME.
WE HAVE STAYED HERE MANY TIMES (WITH OUR DOG) - ALL THE STAFF ARE EXCEPTIONAL; FRIENDLY, EFFICIENT AND PROFESSIONAL.

One night stay to catch up with brother and wife. Pub was full and fun albeit noisy but there was a quiet residents loun
Pros:

Quant, interesting and homely. Very friendly staff and obviously a great local pub.

Cons:

It’s a very old building so there were obviously uneven floors, steep stairs and pillars. I didn’t dislike this as it is part of the character

Pros:

Lovely quaint building with lots of character. Staff professional, efficient and friendly. Breakfast excellent with a wide variety to choose from on the hot menu. Dinner was delicious, fish beautifully fresh and all well presented.

Friendly helpful staff.
Breakfast was excellent with a good choice of hot tasty food. Portions were plentiful.
The guest lounge was a welcome surprise as the bars can get very busy. It was quieter and very comfortable.

Cons:

We were not comfortable with dogs being allowed into the dining area for both breakfast and dinner.
There were 4 dogs present on one night.
One dog licked my hand while I was resting it near the edge of my table which startled me.
The dog had been out in the shower of rain and was very smelly as a result. Not what you want beside you when eating your meal.
We thought about eating dinner out if we were to stay at Rose and Crown again.

A short, but wonderful stay
Pros:

The staff were excellent and made me feel very at home. The room was very clean and comfortable. I was so pleased with the menu for dinner - the food was excellent. I had the best seafood linguine I've ever tasted, followed by a delicious pudding. The choice of breakfast items was amazing. It was the first time I have ever stayed here, but certainly won't be the last!
