One comfortable nights stay
Pros:

Our room was comfortable and suited our needs very well. Very much appreciated the lovely staff who were helpful and kind. Also enjoyed the leisure facilities. Excellent location for us as we wanted to visit Culross.

Cons:

The steam room was out of order in the leisure area but these things happen!

Clean, comfortable and great location with a car.
Pros:

Very comfortable old style hotel. Clean. Excellent Breakfast. Very good restaurant with tasty food with different menu each evening. Very friendly staff. Good location to see Stirling and Edinburgh. You will need a car however.

Cons:

Rooms were a little dated. But that’s about it.

Would never stay again.
Pros:

One practical staff member was quite helpful but that was only in the morning and tried to find another room but sadly was fully booked.

Cons:

Unfortunately, my experience at Crossford Keavil House Hotel was extremely disappointing.

When I arrived at the hotel, I had to wait approximately 20 minutes before anyone from reception responded to me, which was not a good first impression.

The room itself was dirty and clearly had not been properly cleaned. To make matters worse, the bathroom shower was broken, meaning the facilities were essentially unusable. I had booked a two-night stay, and although I reluctantly stayed for the first night, I discovered afterwards that the shower was not working properly in the morning.

Sleeping was also extremely difficult. Throughout the night, the heating pipes were constantly making loud noises, which repeatedly disturbed us and made it very difficult to get a decent night’s sleep.

I raised my concerns with the hotel, and I was advised by the manager that I would receive a refund. However, I am still waiting for this refund. I stayed at the hotel back in July, and despite being told that I would be refunded, I have yet to receive the money.

Overall, the combination of the long wait at reception, the dirty room, broken shower, unusable bathroom facilities, excessive noise during the night, and the lack of follow-through regarding the promised refund made this a very poor experience.

I would have expected much better, particularly given the price of the stay. The fact that I am still chasing a refund months later is especially disappointing.

I would not recommend this hotel based on my experiences.

They didn’t make up the room (we stayed for 2 nights). We had a baby and required new sheets for night 2 which we then needed to ask for on the evening after returning from an event with a sleeping baby?

Die Lage des Hotels ist sehr ruhig gelegen. Das Personal ist freundlich, aber manchmal etwas unbeholfen. Die Zimmer sind groß und gut ausgestattet. Das Hotel, die Zimmer sind sauber.

Es ist eine "Best Western Plus" Hotel. Das Hotel ist nach meiner Meinung sehr renovierungsbedürftig. Vor allem der Saunabereich war in den 1970 er Jahren auch mal modern. Einige Duschen waren auch einfach defekt dort. In diesem Zustand war der Preis nicht angemessen. Bei der vorhandenen Toilettenpapier Rolle - bestehend auch noch 2 Blatt - wurde bei der Reinigung das letzte sorgfältig dekorativ gefaltet - aber keine Neue gebracht. Auch in den allgemeinen Toiletten mußte man oft mehrfach nach Papier fragen.

good hotel for one night stopover en route by car
Pros:

The hotel is located in very nice area. The rooms are spacious and breakfast is beyond expectations. staff, although under ptressure for the events reported further, was able to intervene and resolve.

Cons:

When we arrived it was late ( 22:30 ) , and as soon as we got to our rooms it was clear the we had a problem : one of the windows would not close and it was quite cold outside ( and inside the room). We asked for room change , but we were told that due to presence of a large group there were no other rooms. One member of staff was recalled to hotel from home and finally eventually managed not without effort to close the old wooden window. We risked aborting the stay and have to find alternatives late at night. Maintenance MUST be done BEFORE delivering the service.
