NIce location just shame about parking
Pros:

Would like the option for breakfast at hotel as the welcome letter in room recomends 3 places in town but only 1 place was open when we were there.Location was fine .

Cons:

PARKING. This was a nightmare. You can park outside the hotel if you can get 1 of the 2 spots outside otherwise parking is across street at the pay as you go car park.£1.10 overnight till 7am then you had to get up at 7 to go and pay again for the time you needed.

It was good for a last minute stay but could’ve been better.
Pros:

The bed was big and comfortable, and the bathroom mirror and sink was great.

Cons:

The tv had very little connection to the internet and kept cutting out, the volume buttons also very rarely worked.
We had a bath with a shower and it wasn’t ideal, we were too tall for the shower.
The windows were really difficult to open and close, and we had very disturbed sleep from all the noise on the street at night.

Lovely 1 night stay plus the Staff were Amazing
Pros:

The staff were all lovely and went above and beyond for everyone. I had evening meal at the hotel which was tremendous , plus the staff yet again were so nice , especially one young lady who happened to be only 17 but had an experienced head on young shoulders, she was a real joy .

I’ll definitely visit again soon , the room was great but it’s the staff that make the place

Staff lovely food lovely but a little noisy
Pros:

The property was well situated, food was lovely in blocks which is attached to hotel and staff are also lovely

Cons:

So paying what I did for one night I expected a little more, was very noisy didn’t really sleep due to noise outside, whole place smelt a little musty and beds were really hard and uncomfortable. The carpet on the stairs going up to the rooms was filthy, paint flaking in the toilet around the sink,

Pros:

Excellent location in the town centre. Room was very clean, with bottled water & hot drinks facility. Bathroom was modern with good walk in shower.

A wonderful stay in a great town!
Pros:

Huge room with an outside door that opened into a courtyard. It was right in the center of town and was central to everything. They do not offer breakfast but there are plenty of places to pick up something very close. The people in the town were extremely friendly and wanted to talk to you.

Cons:

Nothing!

Cons:

Now not serving breakfast, would rather pay a little more for a full English and good coffee. Steakhouse food menu seems very average now, seems like much less focus on the food which is a shame

Everything. Nothing not to like. Tradtional style of
Country hotel with friendly & helpful staff.
Excellent cleanliness & nice period furnishings, nicely carpeted through out bedroom areas.
Centrally located to Cockermouth shops & Wordsworth House.
My room was o n first floor. No lift, but wide & manageable staircase which Vita kindly carried my suitcase up.
Nice ensuite although shower was a little tight for me. But good hot water system.
