Beautiful hotel
Pros:

The property was a really nice hotel, the room was lovely the food was beautiful and the staff very friendly

Cons:

At one point the electric went off for a short while and we was there only one night so needed the electric to charge phones up, iron clothes and to do my hair

Ideale Unterkunft für den Start in eine Costa Rica Reise
Pros:

Das La Rivera eignet sich sehr gut für die erste Übernachtung nach der Ankunft in Costa Rica. Der Shuttle vom Flughafen funktioniert unkompliziert und zuverlässig. Die Anlage ist sehr schön gestaltet und verfügt über einen wunderbaren Swimmingpool.

Praktisch ist auch das Restaurant direkt in der Unterkunft, in dem man abends gut essen kann. Das Frühstück ist ebenfalls gut. Direkt gegenüber befindet sich ein Supermarkt, sodass man sich vor der Weiterreise noch problemlos mit allem Nötigen versorgen kann. Auch der Transfer zum Autovermieter lässt sich unkompliziert organisieren.

Insgesamt eine sehr gute und praktische Unterkunft, um entspannt in eine Costa-Rica-Rundreise zu starten.

it was adequate but I would not stay here again. I would try the restaurant again

Cons:

coffee pot in room but no coffee...no non slip mat in shower..dangerous for older guests..breakfast was mediocre..burnt pancakes and cold coffee, dinner in restaurant was excellent but not great service, limited selection of wine by the glass and no wine menu..also refrigerating red wines?? obviously you don't know wine.

Pros:

The staff was excellent. The free shuttle was convenient and easily arranged. The property was welcoming and even had friendly cat greeters, which we just loved.
The restaurant, an independent one next door, was fantastic and had wonderful food and atmosphere.

Cons:

Our room was very small and the bed not very comfortable, but it was just fine for one night. Really, the only tiny downside here.

Lot of stray cats which triggered my allergies and shortness of breath (I’m allergic to cats).
Pros:

Breakfast and staff OK. Staff helpful.

Cons:

Bathroom trash bin smelled of poop and didn’t change after trash removed. Room otherwise clean. I asked for bottled water (distilled) since I didn’t want tap water. I got a total of 3 bottles. Two caps were loose and wasn’t sure of source of the water. I did realized that the water was from faucet when I got the 3rd bottle which was hermetically closed and water tasted a little better. Room much smaller than what was advertised. Didn’t look anything as advertised in pictures. Cats were on funitures napping and comfy. One of the owners carried one around with him when I saw him around the property. There’s a chance that the cats also have access to where the linens are kept.

Pros:

Location and ride to airport included is unbeatable. The restaurant and bakery was delicious. Would recommend to anyone staying in San Jose. Beautiful orchid garden

Cons:

Bathroom window that backed up to thr alley was broken and was bombarded by night noise from the city traffic etc. I'm sure it's fixed by now. It seemed temporary.

Uitstekende start of afsluiting van je vakantie!
Pros:

Het personeel is zeer gastvrij en behulpzaam. Fijn dat ze zo dicht bij het vliegveld zitten en gratis transfer aanbieden.

Cons:

Niets, de kamers zijn een tikje out dated, maar dat is tevens de charme. Het is gewoon een heel fijn en persoonlijk plekje, fijn ontbijt en ook restaurant is prima voor als je er niet meer uit wilt.

Pros:

L'hôtel est situé a proximité de l'aéroport ( c'était notre dernière nuit au Costa rica) avec possibilité de navette gratuite. Le petit déjeuner était compris et très bon.
L'hôtel nous a paru très agréable a notre arrivée et le réceptionniste très gentil.
La suite est moins sympa.

Cons:

Je vous déconseille fortement la chambre 1.
Peut être les autres sont elles plus entretenues et plus agréables.
La chambre n'était pas du tout spacieuse. Un énorme ventilateur complètement délabré au dessus du lit. Nous avons voulu le mettre en route il bougait dans tous les sens et manquait de se décrocher.
L'ecran de la tv était plein de points comme de la neige. Impossible de la regarder.
Le pommeau de douche était tellement entartré que le peu de jets qui fonctionnaient partaient dans tous les sens.
Les toiles d'araignée sous la tablette de chevet et un fil qui pendouille en guise de prise.
Il n'y a pas de lumière de jour. La chambre donne sur un couloir extérieur ou tout le monde passe.
Entre le moment où nous sommes arrivés et le moment où nous sommes allés signaler tout ceci au réceptionniste il avait changé.
Il y avait une dame qui ne nous regardait même pas quand on lui parlait et qui nous a répondu sèchement que c'était comme ça ! On était loin de la gentillesse du réceptionniste qui nous a accueilli.
La nuit a été tout autant cahotique. Un chien n'arrêtait d'aboyé et l'isolation phonique est très moyenne. La porte de service qui se trouve a côté n'a pas arrêté de s'ouvrir et de se fermer. Ça discutait comme en plein jour.
Nous n'avons quasiment pas dormi de la nuit.
Nous avions hâte de partir.
