My mistake for not checking if there was a lift to our rooms. Too many stairs for 2 disabled pensioners. Plus I hadn’t realised there were a set of stairs down to my bathroom so I was unable to use bathroom and had to use my friends bathroom in room next door. Plus in this heat a wee bottle of water in rooms would have been very well received. I know hotel is up for sale but no excuse to drop standards.
The staff were friendly
The electronic room key didn't work properly. We had to have it reset three times.
We had to adjust twice for bathroom products including g toilet roll and bath gel.
Lovely view of the loch. Charming architecture inside & out. Clean room & bath. Nice patio next to a park. Friendly staff & willing to help staff. Good eats.
No in room fan. No window screens. No pad nor pen. No shampoo, no wash cloths. The in room coffee was instant, not good & only had semi skim milk. Bowls of sugar cubes in dining I wouldn’t use because they sit exposed to germs. Kitchen closed at 9pm. No icebox.
Staff were so helpful and were eager to help u in anyway food was amazing.
The room was too warm the blind was hanging off the window. Tv wasn’t tuned in. No hotel carpark for your car.
Location is magnificent. Great location for work and beautiful walks close by for the evenings. Comfortable and spacious rooms.
Now, I like tea, lots of tea. I always need more tea bags and milk. Other than that and a dodgy TV remote it was hard to find anything to dislike.
Lovely outside area facing the Lough where you can relax with a drink or food. Loved the atmosphere there and the staff are fantastic- very friendly throughout our stay . Great location for everything. Breakfast was amazing
It needs a full update - rooms are tired and decor very dated . No water in the room which sounds petty but it’s a basic need and all accommodation need to think of this for their guests. No fridge .

we love that the whistledown is looking into the mountains of mourn. Great location.
The staff are so friendly and a lovely boutique bar and restaurant.
The room was a great size and we got a sea view room which didn’t expect for the price. I hear the owners who have the whistledown for many years are retiring so I hope the new owners continue to be as friendly.
There isn’t I would say I didn’t like about the property.
