Quaint, clean, pretty hotel in a lovely location with friendly staff
It was very hot in the room with no aircon
Had to pray for breakfast as it wasn’t included
Lovely! Room was spotless, the building of the pub was lovely, breakfast was great! A real family run set up. Highly recommend!
We really enjoyed our stay! The location was perfect, especially as we were attending a wedding nearby. We visited during the summer, so having air-conditioned rooms made our stay even more comfortable. A great place to stay—we would happily recommend it!
One small suggestion for improvement would be to offer a laundry service. We had been travelling for quite a while before arriving, so being able to wash some clothes would have been very convenient. Other than that, we had a great stay!
Staff friendly and bedroom had air con. Plenty of parking.
Breakfast a bit hit and miss
De ligging, baas Nick en het zwartharig meisje dat ons steeds met de glimlach , aandacht en interesse bediende.
Té kleine kamer, lawaai en slaande deuren in de gang door feestvierders, het niet 1 keer verversen van het bedlinnen ondanks het verblijf van 1 week in haast tropische temperaturen. Inspiratieloos en afgemeten ontbijt. Lijkt ons een ideaal hotel voor zakenmensen maar niet zozeer voor toeristen.
Modern eingerichtetes großzügiges Zimmer in einem Nebengebäude, ähnlich den bei booking gezeigten Fotos (aber: die Zimmerfläche wurde wohl komplett falsch, sprich viel zu niedrig angegeben!). Großes Bad. Zimmer wie Bad sehr sauber und in gutem Zustand. Ausreichend Parkplätze vorhanden.
Abendessen im Pub war gut und in angenehmer Pub-Atmosphäre.
Das angebotene (nicht im Zimmerpreis inbegriffene) Frühstück hatte u. E. viel Luft nach oben und geht in unsere Punktebewertung nicht mit ein.
There was no remote control for the Aircon in the room that was the only disappointing thing so it was very hot
Great food and lovely room
The room was well sized so a superking bed would have been perfect
very quiet, air conditioning is good. The shower pressure is good. I would like to mention that the toilet paper is of extremely high quality. Bar resturant looks well reputation, serves as the central social point of the neighbourhood.
The room says king-size bed, but it is just a double bed. We would assume it could be bigger. The devout is leaking from the bedding, which is an ick point. The desk is too narrow, after you put a kettle on it, there is no space for work or to put a laptop on
Lovely pub/Hotel. Accommodation was exceptional good. Everything we needed in the room. The room was very clean and spacious. Very comfy large roomy bed.
We had breakfast next morning which was also very good. It was cooked fresh to order.
Very glad we stayed here.
We will definitely return to stay again at some point.
Nothing about the The Chequers Inn was bad.
I visited the pub with my family for lunch. The dessert (the ganache) was fine. However, the gnocchi I ordered were extremely disappointing. They were not gnocchi in any recognisable sense, but large, dense potato mash dumplings that had simply been pan‑fried. The dish was unpleasant.
What was more disappointing, though, was the level of customer service we received from the thin, blonde waitress. The service was poor throughout our visit, to a degree I have not experienced elsewhere. I would encourage the owners to be aware that this style of interaction risks pushing customers away. I have never been in a restaurant where a waitress would come to the table and ask “have you made up your mind about your drinks?”.
