Radisson RED Heathrow-a thoroughly disappointing stay
Pros:

The beds were genuinely comfortable.
The shower was decent.
A few celebrities in the lobby- one wonders whether that is where the attention is being directed.

Cons:

We booked two rooms and arrived on a sweltering day with a three-year-old and a ten-month-old in tow, hoping for a straightforward check-in. What followed was anything but.

Before we even got inside-
The entrance has outdoor seating occupied by smokers, so the first thing we walked our two small children through was a cloud of cigarette smoke. Surely a hotel of this size can designate a proper smoking zone away from the main doors? It set a distinctly one-star tone for somewhere charging what it charges. This is a no brainer for the brand!

What went wrong-
- The air conditioning was not working in the room we checked into.
- Our first call to reception yielded no assistance; nobody was sent, and the wait was interminable.
- On calling again, we were offered a room change, but had to haul all our luggage and both children back downstairs, queue afresh, and were then told to make a further trip down to return the previous key card.
- At no point in any of this was an apology offered. Not once. A simple "sorry" would have gone a considerable way.
- No USB-C charging points anywhere in the rooms, which sits oddly with the brand's modern positioning.
- The much-advertised in-room dining menu on the TV was inaccessible, so we ended up telephoning room service anyway.
- The replacement room's AC switched itself off overnight. With windows that don't open, we woke at 5am drenched in sweat.
- Dinner: £85 for three burgers that were, at best, unremarkable. My son didn't finish his.

This is a system problem, not a staff problem-

I want to be clear that I don't hold the individual staff responsible. They struck me as people caught in an inefficient machine, each a cog with little authority to fix anything, no discretion to send help promptly, no latitude to waive a pointless second trip downstairs, no permission to simply apologise. That is a management failing, not a personal one.

Good for a 1 night stay close to airport
Pros:

Buffet breakfast and dinner is available. Close to Heathrow airport.

Cons:

Customer service at reception. We booked a room with a double bed and bunk beds. This is not what they offered us. The next room they offered had an extremely bad smell.

Would go back
Pros:

Probably the fanciest accommodation I've ever stayed in. They had a promotion happening so I believe I got upgraded to a bigger room. The place seems new - the room and bathroom were very spacious. I only stayed one night before my flight, so location is ideal for getting to airport but it is far from the city and shops. They do have restaurants and a cafe in the building.

Cons:

Not much. I coudn't get the wifi working on the TV so had to watch normal television program. Took me back to good old days when streaming services weren't a thing.

Excellent value and definitely due another visit soon!
Pros:

I enjoyed the room it was well decorated and clean with a comfy bed so a good nights rest was a winner after landing very late and exhausted.

The breakfast the next morning wasnt too bad either, was missing a fried egg, however could have just asked someone, so that is on me.

The check-in and check-out process was very convenient.

Cons:

I do think you should offer a shuttle service between the airport and the hotel, arriving at 11pm and then having to wait for an overpriced Uber wasn't what I would call fun!

But that is just being a bit picky!
