Starting from 28th January 2024 till 15th April 2024 our hotel Gateway Chikmagalur IHCL SeleQtions will be undergoing Swimming Pool renovation. During this period the hotel will be operating with no Swimming Pool facility. We assure you that we will take all necessary measures to minimize any inconveniences that may be caused to our guests during this phase of renovation. Please note that for security purpose all Indian guests are required to present a valid photo ID proof (Voter's ID, Driving License, Aadhar Card, any other ID with address approved by the Government of India. A Pan Card is not acceptable). All international guests are required to present a valid passport and visa. For Indian guests, cash settlements of INR 25000 and above will require a pan card copy during check out.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Pros:

The location was optimally placed. Just outside the main town, but not too secluded. The property is quite serene and luxurious, but the people/staff is equally hospitable.
I saw a lot of people complaining online but honestly, if you ask me - they are really good. It does not have the name Taj, even though it's part of the Inner Circle and that tells you that the property might not be as big or elite. However, I think the staff makes up for it. Every single person was courteous and helpful.
The breakfast and dinner schedules are also optimally selected so as to accommodate everyone. We went for the Mullayanagiri peak at 5:15 am, considering the checkgate(9kms away) opens at 6am. And we were still back in time for breakfast, which runs till 10:15am.
I think people are too entitled when I read comments like breakfast had less healthy options... Dude! What else do you want? They had 50 items on the menu which included salads, frittatas, baked goods and fruits. And trust me.. I counted. Just the sheer audacity! Phew!
Love love love the welcome coffee infused with lemon and thank you to the gentleman running the Ayurveda/general tuck shop near the reception lobby for helping me with the additional cuppa joe!
Overall, go there for an extremely pleasant and serene stay.
Hundred percent recommended!

The location is great but everything else is sub standard!
Pros:

The breakfast was very basic not well curated ☹️ healthy options were almost absent!

Cons:

The rooms are not well maintained, dirty shower cabinets, linen looked dated! Also like all the other Tata enterprises, the Taj is loosing its reputation!! Food is not upto the mark!

They took our power bank’s magnet from our room and misplaced it

Pros:

L'emplacement est très agréable. Les chambres sont propres. La piscine et la verdure sont très appreciables.
Le personnel est serviable et s'est adapté à nos demandes d'occidentaux.

Cons:

Le rapport qualité-prix est surestimé. Même si c'est une propriété du Taj nous avons été déçus par le standing, beaucoup de rénovations sont à faire notamment sur les toitures et sur les murs infiltrés. Les jointures de la salle de bain du cottage avaient du salpêtre. La cabine de douche n'était pas étanche...Un des draps était complètement rapiece. La nourriture était moyenne. Tout n'était pas frais croissants fruits....

Awesome and recommend
Pros:

The property was clean, well maintained and exactly what was in the website.

I stayed here with my parents and family. The staff were extremely kind, friendly and helpful. Mr Sudheesh and his team across the whole property ensured smooth and happy guest stay.

They were able to accommodate some of my parents food requests they were very happy.

Will definitely recommend stay here and will visit again.

Great staff. Very helpful. Always ready to understand needs and provide assistance.

Cons:

Half board was included in the price. Dinner service could have been a little better.

The bed in the room is queen size. For a family traveling with small kids, bed size is insufficient for the price paid. We had to pay extra for a rollaway bed. This is something that the property needs to work on. The size of the room is big enough that they can accommodate a king size bed

Decent stay, can provide better for the cost they charge
Pros:

Rooms were spacious, and clean. It's a decent property for a family to stay. The staff is extremely polite and helpful.

Cons:

The activities available are not upto the mark. The cycles were in bad shape, dinners were good but breakfast can be a little better. Quality of a couple of dishes wasn't great. For the money the hotel charges per day is way more than what is provided. Bathroom showers were complex to operate. The hotel can be better in terms of amenities and provide value to the money customers pay for the stay.
