Villa Papillon

When I went to check into the hotel, there was an elderly woman at the reception. She was incredibly rude. When I tried to open my visa on my phone, she kept yelling at me and wanted to see my visa. Because she was old, I didn't pay much attention, but even after a few days, her behavior didn't change. She was constantly yelling at everyone, pacing around, and being rude to guests. When I went into the kitchen just to get some water, she started yelling at me again. The cleaning lady gently pushed me out (I had permission to enter and they couldn't touch me). Later, while sitting in the garden, she said she would charge me $4 if I didn't turn off the fan??? They also have a dog, and when I tried to pet it, she said it would bite. The dog was very innocent and sweet, not the biting kind; it looked very unhappy. There are many cats; they feed them but never take care of them. The whole place smells of cat feces, and these cats even get into the rooms and beds. And finally, in the evenings, they turn on the air conditioner and hide the remote. I was cold all night and couldn't keep the air conditioner on my desired setting. Definitely don't stay here just because it's cheap. They treated me as if I were staying for free at a place I paid for. I doubt the sweet, hospitable woman mentioned in the reviews was actually there.

A few weeks ago I booked two nights here, we checked in late (approx 11pm) so picked up the room key from the front desk. When we picked up the key from reception there was a large dog who growled at us but stayed put. After checking into our room I realised there was no WiFi code in the room so went back down to reception to get it. When I tried to find the code the dog started growling again, but this time moved towards me and tried to bite me. They would have bitten me had I not realised what was happening and quickly moved away and back up to the room.

In the morning we could hear the dog barking aggressively, we didn't feel comfortable or safe around the dog so decided to cut our stay short and move to a different hotel. We told the host about it and she did apologise but I don't think an aggressive dog should be allowed to roam freely, and if the dog isn't good with strangers they shouldn't be at a hotel where strangers come and go daily. Looking at others reviews this is not an isolated incident.

There are a lot of mosquitoes in the room, and there’s a dog in the house that sometimes roams around the common areas. I love dogs, but this particular one barked at me every time it saw me and tried to bite me twice on the last day, so I didn’t feel safe going in and out of the hostel

Es hatte keine Lampe beim Bett.
Die Klimaanlage wurde tagsüber abgeschaltet. Das ist an sich ja okay, aber sie wurde jeweils um 5.00 Uhr am Morgen ausgeschaltet und die Person, die dafür ins Zimmer kam, war nicht gerade leise.

No fridge in room and bedroom windows closed off with metal bars, no escape option there in case of fire.
