Lovely spot to stay. Views are lovely and there is a peaceful atmosphere. The staff are all excellent and the rooms clean and comfortable. The meals are lovely and reasonably priced. Breakfast was also as good as it gets. We were four young men on motorcycles and the owner allowed us to park them in the rear garden, which was very good for added security.
Nothing. All was excellent
was as expected
sometime noise from the main road was annoying but in the end fine, fan inside the room did the white noise which helped
Nice bedrooms
Reception
Beautiful setting I a lovely little village
I and two relatives had a great time staying here to do a mountain walk. Breakfast in a room with an excellent view was very good and a small water garden outside. We paid for evening meals which were Chinese and delicious. There is a good size lounge with a baby-grand piano which I was allowed to play for half an hour one evening. The twin rooms were a good size clean and comfortable, with a lovely bath room. We asked about packed lunches (as stated on Booking.com website) but were offered a limited choice of sandwiches and these were free. Knowing this in advance we had taken fruit and bars to eat with the sandwiches, so that was fine. The lady running the hotel was very friendly and obliging and we had some good conversation and there was an excellent book about the hotel (including its history) in each room, with recommendation of one other place in the village where we could have eaten evening meal. There is no air conditioning (personally I don't like that anyway) but heaters and fans. There is good quality old-fashioned furnishings.
Nothing to dislike on our visit, but I noticed the windows were not double-glazed so wondered how warm the room would be in winter and in spite of the hot weather during our stay the rooms were perfectly comfortable due to thick walls.
Clean, helpful staff, location, spacious room
Variable shower- difficult to control temperature
Great attention to detail. Lixia is a wonderful host. We stayed over an extremely hot spell and after one night she moved us into a cooler room which was wonderful. The beds are extended comfortable with exceptionally soft high quality bedding! The Chinese food was delicious. The surrounding area is absolutely stunning and this friendly hotel makes a great base for exploring.
Front facing rooms can be hot in exceptional weather and some road noise with window open
Fabulous location and views. Beautiful room, luxury bedding and towels. Comfortable, clean.
We arrived to a lovely welcome. The room was fine with very comfortable beds. Plenty of hot water.
We had not booked in for the evening meal but the host fitted us in. The meal was excellent, as was breakfast the next morning. Thoroughly recommend the hotel
Very little, perhaps another member of staff in really busy times
A fried and I stayed here for a long weekend of cycling. The area around is excellent for that. Even better, our hosts were incredibly welcoming (including of our bikes), the hotel was spacious and comfortable, and the food was excellent. I highly recommend it.
Nothing!
Lovely place friendly staff
Not much to do in the area could do with some outside seating
Excellent location, great restaurant and friendly staff
Lovely old hotel, lots of history. Stunning location. Owners were great! Food was fab and they had curated a fine selection of whisky!

Owner was very helpful and attentive. Made to feel at home straight away. Amazing Chinese meal and glorious views from the garden. Would definitely stay again.
Didn't like the fact that we only booked one night whilst travelling elsewhere, wish we'd stayed longer
