Right by the beach!
Pros:

The proximity to the beach for the price was what I enjoyed the most. My husband and I visited SB for the first time and we enjoyed being close to everything. We were able to take walks by the beach, and walked to almost every destination on our itinerary. It was also not so busy and we were able to find parking either in the free lot or on the street really easily. The staff were very friendly and we liked that the pool was heated for an evening swim. They let us check in early and check in/out was super smooth. We plan to stay there again the next time we want to visit because it's well priced and close to the beach.

Cons:

I don't think our room had AC, not that it was super hot, but I imagine that when it gets hot you'll need AC. They had a fan in the room which worked fine for us and the proximity to the beach allowed the fresh air to come in fine. The building looks pretty old but we didn't mind that.

Great location, friendly staff, would return.
Pros:

Location was fantastic, you can practically skip to the ocean, a located near some fantastic Mexican food. Pool was great, and the staff were super accommodating to our late check in and offered us a late check out.

Cons:

The rooms are a bit dated and the carpet feels quite dirty, but if you're looking to just be at the beach and pool this suffices!

It was not a peasant stay.
Pros:

The view was nice and the location was in walking distance to the beach, restaurants and the zoo.

Cons:

The room was old, dirty and disgusting. The shower leaked and we were told to turn the handle really hard.
