Staff were mostly helpful
Assistance or at least offering to help with my bags would have been appreciated, as the guy lead me through to the bottom of the stair with me struggling with a case, a heavy backpack and a clothes carrier, while he carried the room key.
The room was absolutely baking hot with the sun shining on it. Some of the curtains were closed but others open and it was unbearably hot.
I had to request a fan and I'm glad to say they did provide one, although it was a rather weak one. I do appreciate the weather has been unusually hot but the room could have been prevented from being quite so hot.
It’s age and location
So much- the bed sloped backwards towards the headboard. The tv was on the wall at an angle and was very small. The window wouldn’t easily open then closed itself. No Air conditioning and it was hot. Had to have the window open for the breeze and it was super noisy over the high street. The shower was a pitiful dribble of Luke warm water. Lovely old building sadly brutalised and cheaply done up by people who didn’t appreciate the history and how to do these things with class and sympathy. It also freaked of curry.in the morning I was locked in and had to escape via a fire exit!
Bedrooms were lovely and in a perfect location
No pressure on the shower, staff weren’t present and was hard to communicate with them. Issues with checking in as room keys weren’t working
The room was historic and pleasant. The hotel also cooks curry's which were really nice. A SUPER stay!
Shame it doesn't offer breakfast. but Gregs is around the corner.
LOCATION!
NOTHING!
no breakfast offered.
the location could be great.
does have parking
the rooms are extremely dirty. full of rubbish under the beds. thick dust everywhere, shower door wasn't attached. dirty sponge in the bathroom under the sink on the floor. the tv fell of the wall in the middle of the night. wrong menus for food out of date and no longer serve these. the exit looks like a dumping ground. when you exit the building there is so much rubbing (wood, ironing boards, paint pots etc). the grass is about 5 feet long and the bushes are overgrown when walking to the carpark. the place needs a health and safety inspection so many things wrong
Beautiful rooms and perfect location
Very dated and my bath didn’t a plug and lots of mould and aging in the bathroom. Lovely place but could do with a good refurb.
Place was OK
Kitchen Staff just stood and stared.....weird
Staff were very helpful and friendly I would stay there again.
Building was very interesting and in keeping with the period .
Great location, spacious, very nice looking.
The beds were very hard and the shower weakly powered
Breakfast was not available
The bathroom though clean was tired, if the soap holder does not work remove/replace it! The worst thing was that the curtains did not fit and I had to prop them shut with the ironing board. Needs reminder & clear place to leave the key as there are no staff available.
Noise was a problem but only as the world cup final was on (I don't blame them for that)
