It was clean and up-to-date. Well kept.
The beach was confusing. No where to sit. You get kicked around from neighbor condos. Seems that This Hotel does not have rights to the beach. It embarrassed our Family because of that issue. So we just left and looked for a more public beach. So sad
El servicio , la habitación la vista al mar
No tengo alguna queja
La playa es hermosa
Todo bien
What an excellent experience staying at this hotel! The front desk staff went above and beyond—they were so friendly and helpful. Shoutout to Franco and Chico for all the great chats. We will definitely be staying here again.
We had such a beautiful stay at this hotel! Great beach access, cold room and great location! Highly recommend
This was my second time staying at Marboka and as per the first time we received nothing but top notch service. Everyone is so friendly and helpful and willing to do whatever it takes to make your stay great. Love that is is attached to La Playita restaurant so food and drinks are always available. If you want the flavor of staying in Mexico this is the place to be! Thank you all for your hospitality!! We'll be back.
Location right next to great beach. Also an excellent and fun restaurant on the water that was next door to hotel.
I would have liked a sofa in the suite.
Chico is the man!
We booked this hotel room last minute because we expected weather-related travel delays back to the US, and I’m so glad we did! The view from the room is incredible, the hotel staff are fantastic, and the check-in/out process was very smooth. The walk on the beach was very fun, and the downstairs restaurant is lovely. It’s not fancy, but it has everything you need (no one comes to PV to stay inside!) I would absolutely stay here again and recommend booking today!
I was always greeted by a smile and excellent service by Chicco and Franco at Reception
Patty and Leti were always ready to assist with any request for my room.
The view from my room was spectacular!
The views of the ocean, palm trees and sunsets were amazing. The restaurant belonging to next door hotel was good. Housekeeping staff were great.
The list of dislikes is very long. Hospitality started off on a good note. We were told we were getting an upgrade which was not the case. The 1st room stank of mold and mildew. The toilet was leaking water. The safe was broken. When we asked for another room, the front desk staff's mood turned sour. We were shown a room next door to original with less odour and were told in an intimidating tone that "if we take this one, there are no more changes". As in the first room, the towels were thin, rough and frayed. We only got 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and one shower mat/towel with a hole in it. We asked for face cloths and were told that we had to wait until next day. When we got them one was stained with lipstick. The room safe was broken as in the first room. The room doorknob was flimsy and antiquated and there was an old door chain. We did not feel safe. Only 5 mismatched plastic hangers in closet. Drinking glasses were plastic, old and one was chipped. There was no (or very little) hot water for showers. With only the hot water tap on, it took over 5 mins to get less than lukewarm water in the shower. The beds were not comfortable, the sheets were threadbare and pilled. The pillows smelled of head sweat from previous guests. We had to buy vanilla mist spray to cover the bad odours. First evening on our balcony was amazing but next day we could not use it because of the strong cooking/bbq smells coming from below. We ended up cutting our stay short (losing money) and when we told the same front desk person that we were leaving earlier than booked, he laughed and did not question at all our reasons.
Great location and gorgeous views from balcony of the ocean! A few stairs to climb but well worth it!
Pros:
Stunning ocean view and a very quiet location. The hot tub on the balcony was great, and whale watching right from the balcony was a highlight. The room itself was kept clean.
Cons:
Unfortunately, everything else. The room was extremely basic. The sheets were old and scratchy, and there were only three pillows. We asked for more and were initially told they didn’t have any. After repeatedly asking, we eventually received two more pillows. Towels were stained, old, and ripped. There was no dresser to unpack into and very few hangers. The jets in the hot tub wouldn't turn on. There was a coffee maker, but not even complimentary coffee in the room
The photos are misleading when it comes to amenities. The nice-looking pools shown are private. The actual shared pool is tucked away behind a rusty fence, has no ocean view, and gets no sunlight. The women’s bathroom at the pool didn’t even have a toilet seat.
Because there was no decent pool or common area, we spent all of our days away from the hotel. The beach itself is pretty, but the tide comes up and covers the sand, so it’s not usable all day (obviously not something the hotel can control). We ended up paying a day pass fee for a couple of days at a resort in Zona Romantica for a nice pool and beach with a full bar and an on-site restaurant.
At check-in, Franco told us we could use the beach lounge chairs, towels, and other beach amenities during our stay. On our checkout day, we didn't need to leave for the airport until 2 pm, so after checking out, we went to sit on the beach for a couple of hours. When we arrived, Franco had already called the staff member who manages the chairs (we believe his name is Enrique), and he told him we had already checked out and should be charged. After staying five nights and not using amenities at all, we were told we’d have to pay 100 MXN to use chairs for two hours. After arguing for several minutes, he eventually allowed us to use them for free, but the interaction left a very bad impression.
Overall:
While the view and quiet location are excellent, the lack of basic comfort, misleading photos, and poor guest service made this a disappointing stay. At $300 per night, the quality did not match the price.
The location and views were incredible
The hotel is not being maintained enough. Bathroom ceiling falling apart, stains on sheets and blankets, towels were in terrible shape they felt like dish cloths,
horrible wifi, missing tiles at the pool, not enough proper kitchen items (microwave and toaster would make a huge difference), the front desk staff is not trustworthy.
