Pros:

the location was nice

paper thin mattress, thin almost non-existent Pillows. Room felt dusty

Quiet ryokan overlooking the canal and greenery located within way walking distance of town
Pros:

Traditional Japanese style
Quiet, clean.
Helpfully provided heated fleece blankets

Cons:

Kettle available but no cups.
Some simple steps on how to use Air con for heating would have been great!
Also, clearer info/signage for check in. Had no idea I was looking for a random door next to a restaurant tucked inside a vestibule!

Frustrating that guests are completely left to their own devices when things don't work.
Pros:

The location was down an alleyway close to but away from the station. Whilst it was fine during the day, I was not comfortable walking back by myself much into the night.

Cons:

The service was attrocious. There is no one on site and the telephone number provided is a recorded message in Japanese with no ability to leave a message. The wifi was so bad during my stay I ended up paying over $100 to use my own data as it was unstable and not available for long periods. The first email I sent had a response telling me to look at the poster for the wifi information, which I obviously had but it wouldn't connect, as I had told them. Subsequent emails were simply ignored.

Convenient location but lacking amenities and comfort.
Pros:

Very close to the train station and main street. Easy unmanned check in. Quiet location near the river. In suite bathroom. Great value for a short stay, young travelers, and those who will only use it to sleep.

Cons:

There were very few toiletries (no robes, razer, comb/brush). Very thin futon (No western style bed in the room we were placed in) and no curtains on the windows.

Convenient, clean but uncomfortable for a first time futon user.
Pros:

Close to railway station. Immaculately clean. Falling asleep to the sound of the river. Electronic Check in and check out instructions are easy to follow.

Cons:

This was my first experience of a futon so I can’t compare to others. However, I can’t sleep on my back and I found this futon extremely thin and uncomfortable which lead to bruised ribs and hips. It was like sleeping in a tiled floor with no padding.

Very stressful using automated entry. Steep narrow access to room via stairs, room was comfortable.
Pros:

Location good walking distance to train station, view onto river.

Cons:

No reception or staff on site for this property, totally automated. Was not aware of this when making booking.
Very confusing key pad entry just to access this accommodation & room.
Paid over $450.00 au per night not a cup/glass for tea/coffee facilities. Very Very Sml bathroom.

Poor
Cons:

Helpless, very poor service and facilities. Wifi is too weak to connect efficiently. Even no a glass or cup provides. The key panel is always malfunction. Anyway, it will never be my choice again.
