The hotel has its own unique rustic charm of a bygone era. The huge rooms, colonial architecture, tall ceilings and wooden shutters all contribute to taking you back in time. The lobby is very popular with locals for photo shoots and the pool area is wonderfully relaxing in the afternoon. The bathrooms seem to have had a recent renovation and the toiletries and linen are of a good quality. The mattresses are also soft and big! There is aircon and a ceiling fan so the rooms cool down quickly with good air flow. New fridges in the rooms so your drinks stay cold. The laundry service was also top notch. My clothes came out cleaner than nearly all the places I've stayed in Cambodia.
I'm not sure what someone's comments are about dodgy electrics. It's an old building and some switches are painted over, so what?
Ask for a room facing onto the pool as the rooms facing the street are quite noisy with traffic
The location is just outside the riverfront but close enough you can walk there in 5 minutes down a shady street. Much better than staying on the strip with all the late night bars. There is also a bus station really close by.
The two family dogs are the cutest!! You will fall in love with them and the family who run the hotel speak good English and are great.
Overall, you are paying a really good price for this hotel and a unique experience. It's up there with some of the nicest hotels in Cambodia that I've stayed in. Don't expect it to be perfect - remember where you are. If you want perfect go to Singapore and stay in 6 star.
My only niggle was they don't have food only drinks. Maybe this is a low season thing?? Not sure why because the hotel has a great restaurant on the river front. It's not a problem though as there is a cosy cafe and bakery on the other side of the road where you can grab a great breakfast.
The descriptions of the rooms are not great. They say the same for every room. Book the deluxe so you get the better room. The price difference is negligible.

Emplacement central
L’emplacement idéal un peu en dehors de l’intranet centre. Il n’y a pas énormément d’hôtel dans la ville. Celui ci sort du l’eau avec sa piscine et son style. Les lits sont confortables.

Good air conditioning - good location
Room was DEFINITELY not as advertised and electricity was dangerous- no manager to report too! Staff were very defensive

Badkamer helemaal prima.

Niets en als we dan al iets moeten noemen is dat het feit dat er geen lift is.
Voor ons geen probleem maar zonde. Het zou daarnaar meer mensen kunnen trekken.
Wir hatten ein sehr schönes grosses, sauberes Zimmer mit Balkon. Der Pool war auch schön. Das Hotel liegt mitten in Kampot , Restaurants, Supermarkt, Flussufer ist alles fussläufig
erreichbar. Wir haben von dort viele Ausflüge machen können, Pfefferfarm, Salzfelder, Kep, Bokor Hill. Es waren alle sehr freundlich.
