Wouldn’t want to stay there again until management is changed

It looks cute from the outside but .. Nothing at all.

Cons:

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience deserves one because it involved serious safety concerns.

The biggest issue occurred when my friend became trapped inside her room for nearly an hour because the door lock failed. The room phone didn’t work, there was no mobile signal, and she had no way to contact reception. She eventually climbed out of the window, scraping herself in the process.

What happened next was even more disappointing. Instead of checking if she was okay, the receptionist, Ali, shouted at her and became defensive. When I later explained that my room’s phone was also out of service, I was told to contact reception via WhatsApp—but that they were very busy and might not reply. In an emergency, relying on an unanswered WhatsApp message because the hotel phones don’t work is simply unacceptable.

Although an apology and a small bottle of wine were offered after the owner became involved, the real issue was never resolved. The phones remained broken for the rest of our stay.

There were several other problems:

* The shower only produced scalding boiling hot water.
* Our dome room had a strong chemical/insecticide smell and no window, forcing us to leave the door open just to make it bearable.
* The food was average at best—the chicken burger was disappointing, while the mixed grill was merely acceptable.

The hotel also appeared severely understaffed despite Petra hosting a major event and the property being full. The entire operation felt disorganized.

The only positive is that the hotel is affordable. But low prices should never come at the expense of guest safety, basic maintenance, or professional customer service.

Until these issues are properly addressed, I cannot recommend staying here.

Our stay at this hotel was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Jordan. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the warm and genuinely kind staff. Every member of the team was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always ready to help with a smile. Their hospitality made us feel at home and added something very special to our experience.

The location of the hotel is simply breathtaking. Waking up surrounded by the magnificent sandstone mountains of Petra is an experience that is difficult to put into words. The peaceful atmosphere, the stunning sunsets, and the unique setting among the rocks create a magical feeling that you cannot find in an ordinary hotel.

The food was another wonderful surprise. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious and beautifully prepared. Every meal offered a great variety of fresh dishes, including traditional Middle Eastern specialties, homemade hummus, fresh vegetables, olives, warm bread, and flavorful local cuisine. Sharing dinner while surrounded by the mountains of Petra made every evening feel special and authentic.

The dome accommodations blend perfectly with the natural landscape and make the entire stay feel unique and memorable. The combination of comfort, incredible scenery, delicious food, and exceptional hospitality creates an experience that goes far beyond simply staying in a hotel.

We left with beautiful memories and are already dreaming of coming back. If you are visiting Petra and want a place that offers stunning views, peaceful surroundings, excellent food, and truly caring people, this hotel is an absolute gem and one of the best places you could choose. Highly recommended!

We had a great experience at The Rock Camp Petra. We had 2 suite rooms booked and they were both exceptional. The rooms were clean and had everything you could want, especially considering that we were in a bubble in the desert. There isn’t much reception out in the property but that is made up for with the excellent WiFi coverage all around the camp. The food was great, the staff were all very friendly, and the pool and hot tub were also great with a nice view.

Exactly what we were looking for and an experience like no other.
Pros:

We stayed at Petra Rock Camp and absolutely loved it. The setting is stunning — waking up surrounded by the desert rock formations is something you don’t forget. The hospitality was genuinely warm, the staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, and the food was delicious. A peaceful, memorable escape and the perfect base for exploring Petra. Highly recommend, and we’d come back in a heartbeat

Loved it! Relaxing glamping experience after Petra hike
Pros:

The location is perfect, it's a short drive from Petra in a cozy area in the mountains away from any noise or sound pollution, perfect for a relaxing sleep after hiking Petra and stargazing for a bit before waking up to the views. Staff are exceptionally helpful, made the stay even more worthwhile.

Ali gave us a very good exchange rate, shared helpful tips about Petra, local food, and places to visit, and even upgraded our standard room to a bubble room free of charge.
