excellent hotel. the spa upstairs is a great thing after a day of walking in Kyoto. Close to the train station and easy to get around. Great value for money
the washing machines seemed to be few for the people there as they were always busy. Sometimes the staff were a bit rude but I guess that is a cultural difference
Het hotel ziet er nieuw uit en schoon, ook de was- en droogmachines zijn gratis te gebruiken.
De kussens op het bed waren erg hard. Sommige hotels bieden een extra, zachter kussen aan, maar dit hotel niet.

Good location, only few minutes walk from Kyoto railway station. Small but clean room. Nice to relax in the spa after sightseeing some of the numerous temples of Kyoto.
The room was spacious, with a separate toilet and bathroom. A window looked out onto our own small zen garden.
The onsens were wonderful, and a good laundry was available to use...great when travelling.
Staff were delightful.
The restaurant is expensive.
The in room fridge was half the size of a normal small, hotel room fridge. It did not have a freezer compartment and turned off when we left the room. So it's not good to keep small food items or water coldness a little hard and pillows (only one each) were very hard and uncomfortable.
Facilities were spotless and the staff was overwhelmingly professional and accommodating. The rooms were comfortable and spacious compared to most of what you'd find in Japan. With just a 10 min walk from Kyoto station, it is well placed if for leaving the area.
However, there isn't much to do within walking distance. The breakfast also left quite a bit to be desired. There were a lot of option but everything tasted pretty mediocre. Not worth the extra cost in my opinion.

The Hotel is perfect! Just walking distance from Kyoto station. We booked ALA hotel for keeping it as base for our commute to kyoto temples, osaka, universal studios and it was too good.
There is a 7-Eleven just in front of the hotel. Kyoto Yadobashi is 3 minute walk from hotel which has Uniqlo, GU etc for shopping and also a food court.
Hotel is quite strict about the Onsen timing which is a bit pity that they close the Onsen at 23:00. Considering, mayn travellers come late after their hectic and long walking day and just to find out the onsen is already closed.
We have stayed in other hotels where onsen usually opens at least until next mornin 10AM.
the breakfast at hotel is good for one day but it is same menu for all days. We skipped breakfast twice because of the menu.
Super clean rooms, great amenities, hotel is very close to many attractions and it's super close to the Kyoto station.
