The host was really friendly and helpful, she helped us book our safari which we loved! She also packed us a takeaway breakfast of some bread, egg, and fruits.
The location was really good for doing the safari, just a short ~25-30 minute drive to the national park. It's a little bit out of the main town of Tissamaharama (about a 25 min walk or short tuk tuk). The owner helped us arrange a tuk tuk to go into Tissamaharama, which was great.
The room was adequate for one night but quite basic - there was a fridge in the room but it wasn't working or not plugged in anywhere (and there was nowhere obvious to plug it in). The air conditioning took a little while to cool the room down when it had been off for a while, but once it got going it was effective. The toilet didn't flush very well.
An amazing stay at Lavender Home Yala Safari! The environment was very comfortable, and the host was incredibly kind and helpful. They arranged a great Yala Safari tour for me, which went very smoothly. Bonus points for the food—both lunch and dinner were delicious! Highly recommended if you are visiting Tissa.

Location surrounded by paddy fields. Good AC nice balcony facing fields. Nicely landscaped grounds. Cup of tea on arrival. Comfy beds.

Small family hotel with really friendly staff, tasty homemade food. I Can recommend for all type of traveler.
Beautiful homestay that has an unobstructed view of the paddy fields and sunrise. Rooms are clean, spacious with all the basic amenities. Milanshi the host welcomed us with a big smile. She was helpful, very hospitable and made us dinner too. Definitely coming back to stay here longer.

Very nice property with balcony looking over the rice fields. Located 15 minute walk from tissamaharama town centre. Very well presented property and gardens nicely lit at night. The owner was amazing. Very kind woman and went out of her way to make the stay exceptional. Provided taxi/tuk tuk services as required, helped book an excellent safari and provided delicious home cooked meals for a good price.

An absolutely unforgettable stay! The breakfast was amazing every morning — fresh, delicious, and prepared with great care. The views were honestly some of the best I’ve ever seen in my life, overlooking the beautiful Sri Lankan rice fields and creating a true paradise atmosphere.
What made the experience even more special was the safari we did with them. It was truly one of the most incredible and highly recommended experiences ever! Everything was perfectly organized, and our guide was absolutely amazing — knowledgeable, friendly, and passionate, making every moment unforgettable.
Waking up surrounded by nature, listening to the peaceful sounds around us, and enjoying such breathtaking scenery made this stay truly magical. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a unique adventure and a perfect getaway!
The owner is really nice and supportive. The room is spacious and clean. The view is really pretty and you can see many squirrels, parrots and blue birds

The hotel is surrounded by green paddy fields, and the view of the countryside from the room was charming. The dinner prepared by the hotel was delicious. Since we went on the Yala Safari early the next morning, the hotel thoughtfully prepared a takeaway breakfast box for us.
The lighting in the room was a bit dim.

Grande chambre propre avec climatisation fonctionnelle et magnifique vie sur une rizière et lever de soleil.
L'hôtesse est d'une grande gentillesse. Elle nous a organisé les safaris à Yala et Bundala.
Les déjeuners Sri lankais étaient différents les trois matins (faut aimer le genre) avec une immense assiette de fruits très appréciée.
Les repas sont froids (pas la seule place au Sri Lanka avec des repas froids, je ne comprends pas pourquoi).
The views were gorgeous and the host was very helpful with booking our yala safari and explaining what bus to get to Ella and the time it departed.
C'est plutot propre, le materiel est vieux mais c'est un tres bon rapport qualité prix. Le safari a était organisé avec eux, on a eut le chance car on a vu pleins d'animaux pendant le safari dont des leopards et des elephants mais le guide bien qu'adorable ne parlait que très peu anglais.
Le petit déjeuner du safari etait nul, il y avait quelques tartine avec seulement du beurre, 2 bananes, un peu d'ananas et 2 jus de fruit. C'etait le safari du matin donc on avait super faim, quelle déception de voir le peu qui etait fourni pour manger.
La salle de bain est très vieille avec du materiel rouillé et un débit d'eau très faible mais pour le prix et une seule nuit c'est tres ok!
