The food was good, and the location also not bad.
A Few Concerns
1. Staff Communication – Particularly at Reception
I requested an early check-in by phone, and the request was approved. However, when I arrived at the agreed time, no one at the reception seemed to have been informed, and apparently there was no update in the system either. As a result, I had to wait approximately 40 minutes for the room.
This shows a clear lack of internal communication among the reception staff.
2. Inconsistent Payment Policy
At check-in, I requested to settle the payment at check-out because I was considering extending my stay by another night. However, I was told that I had to make the payment immediately at check-in.
Interestingly, when I extended my stay for an additional night, I was told that the payment for the additional night could be made at check-out.
This was quite confusing. If payment must be made at check-in, why was the payment for the additional night allowed at check-out? Other Cinnamon hotels I have stayed at have allowed payment at check-out, so I found this inconsistency difficult to understand.
3. Extension of Stay – Poor Internal Coordination
After making the additional booking through Booking.com, I specifically called the reception and informed them that I was extending my stay for another night. I also requested to remain in the same room.
Despite this, at around 12:00 p.m. the following day, another member of the reception staff called me regarding check-out and asked again about the extension.
This was frustrating because I had already informed the reception in advance. Why was this information not updated in the system or communicated to the other staff members? Guests should not have to repeatedly provide the same information.
4. Staff Professionalism
Overall, only a small number of staff members were friendly, professional, and provided the level of service I normally associate with Cinnamon Hotels.
Unfortunately, several others were unprofessional in their behaviour and communication.

The hotel staff was very friendly. The hotel property was very clean, and the pool was even open late into the night. The pool water was pleasantly warm thanks to the climate. The hotel property was very appealing, and the rooms - with their exceptionally large balconies - are beautifully and creatively designed.
Of all the massages we enjoyed in Sri Lanka, the ones offered at the hotel were the best and most professional. Breakfast is plentiful and prepared with great care.
Overall, I would gladly recommend this hotel at any time.
To be honest, there’s nothing to get upset about or complain about. The hotel is impeccable.

We loved being off the beach, easy to access the beach in minutes on a tuk-tuk, but the vibe was the "green escape". Super comfortable large rooms and beds, a beautiful pool. And cannot forget the wonderful staff at the resort. And the bonus is as a diver, they have their dive shop on the beach!
And least I forget, on our first night in the restaurant surprised us with a 🎂

A huge 3 bedroom villa for the 4 of us (we were expecting just one room with 2 big beds!) Gorgeous veranda with comfortable seating, good food and a lovely pool with plenty of loungers surrounding it. The location was quiet and it was perfect for a relaxing few days. Staff were friendly and helpful.
The only downside was that the pool was too hot!
