Relaxing / Enjoyable Stay
Pros:

The rumbling of the occasional train, music and location made for an excellent stay with a relaxing atmosphere. Room was very clean, with good WIFI and comfortable beds. The balcony and its associated seating was enjoyed. Most staff spoke English, were extremely helpful and friendly. The service they provided can only be described as Excellent and the same goes for the breakfast. Beach, railway station, ATM and supermarket close by, about a 4 minute walk. Located in a quiet area but close enough to walk to the town, about a 6 minute walk up the hill. The river cruise and onward transport organized by the manager were excellent and went smoothly. Manager and staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and this was very much appreciated.

Cons:

There was no hot water from the shower, it barely had any heat.

Er stond airco in de boeking maar deze was er niet. Wel een ventilator maar dat was niet genoeg tegen de hitte onder het schuine dak. Er was een hond bij de accomodatie die werd verwaarloosd. Erg mager en ziekelijk. Oud werd gezegd. Erg schrijnend en hart brekend.

Overall a nice stay with friendly and helpful staff. Large rooms with balcony and aircon.

Nice location to railway station. Friendly and helpful staff. Great breakfast. Big comfortable room with air conditioning and lovely balcony.

Cons:

Lots of stairs to top floor which is slow going when you are in your 70’s. Loud talking and laughing from next door, making it hard d to sleep. TV not working and shower only lukewarm.

Perfect location... few steps to the pristine beach and easy access to town. Quiet and peaceful yet handy to everything. Delicious and well priced food in the restaurant. Breakfast included which is so fresh and hearty. Rooms super clean with nice leafy outlook. A hidden gem !

Espirit Bentota lovely place
Pros:

I stayed at Espirit Bentota for 2 days and had a really pleasant experience. The owner, Lex, is a genuinely kind and helpful person who responded quickly to all my queries and cleared all my doubts, making the stay smooth and stress free. The rooms are spacious and the washroom is equally big and clean, with the AC working perfectly which was a big relief. The balcony was a great spot to relax as well. The food at the downstairs restaurant was lovely, and a special mention to Chandu and Sadee who went out of their way to help and made the experience even better. Overall, a great place with warm hospitality and I would definitely recommend it.
