The shower was fabulous!!
Towels are pretty worn, but adequate. A brighter light over the sink would make shaving easier.
the garden where i had my coffee every morning was so beautiful!
A/C in the room was expected--the picture had a/c on the internet
Gardens were very nice and staff was excellent and helpful.
Breakfast was totally substandard. We ordered 2 dishes and by the time the 2nd was brought (at least 5 minutes later) the first was cold. Bad, watery coffee.
The room: the sink in the bathroom took 5 minutes to get warm water so we had to waste so much water till it warmed up. The spout on the faucet sprayed water all over when you opened it. Lighting was so dim in the bathroom that you could barely see yourself in the mirror to shave, etc.
The room was stuffy because you couldn't open the window to get fresh air/no screen on the bedroom window. When we opened the door mosquitoes entered.
For an older person, walking up the hill from the main pedestrian area to the hotel was very exhausting.
The location is great and the garden is super nice.
Shampoo and hair conditioner could be offered
We loved the location, being a quick walk into one of the main squares. Rooms were incredibly spacious and felt more like suites. Beautiful green spaces to sit.
Great location. Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Very clean and comfortable.
Fabulous location; gardens are beautiful.Very pleasant and helpful staff.
Room I thought I was getting was not what I got … actual room much smaller, could barely fit around the king bed. Bed was very very hard. Bathroom was tired.
I like this hotel, and have stayed there many times over the years. It is a great location and I enjoy the beautiful gardens, the pleasant rooms, the friendly staff.
I had pleasant memories of the breakfast in the garden area at the back of the property, but this time when I arrived for breakfast there weren't even chairs set out and the breakfast offerings were limited. It seemed that I was the only guest and they were doing some construction in the area in back of restaurant zone, so perhaps this affected this situation. The breakfast seemed expensive for what it was. I also remember a pleasant reading/library room on previous visits that I didn't see on this occasion; I'm not sure if it is still there.
Lovely hotel with colorful warm rooms and native artwork.
Very clean. Air conditioning. Lovely garden .
Staff were very nice and kind.

A great place to stay. An ancient neighbourhood of local residences turned into a local hotel. Has that charming vibe to it and feels like you're living as a local of oaxaca. The place is beautiful with so many amazing plants that attracted some humming birds at breakfast. The room was big and comfy. Lovely murals as well, and the coloursbrightenedn it even further. The owner Carmen is such a nice woman with interesting stories to tell and all the staff are friendly and kind. Would recommend anyone to stay here, had a great time. Bonus: such a cute dog!
Eigentlich eine ganze Anlage: Wunderschöne Gebäude, Plätze und blumenbewachsener Innenhof.
Wasserspender für die Gäste.
The common areas of the property are lovely (lots of pottery and beautiful plants) and the rooms are spacious. The front desk staff when we checked in were initially friendly.
I NEVER like to criticize a local business and I wouldn’t do so with this one had the property manager been less defensive when we registered a complaint. The rooms are very basic (which is fine given the price point) but we found the beds to be incredibly uncomfortable. Again, that’s to be expected at the price point. However, in the morning, we discovered that the hotel is in the flight path and we were awakened around 6 AM to planes flying directly overhead. I immediately reached out to Booking.com as we had booked a three night stay. I was told to contact the hotel directly, which I did. When I chatted with the property manager, she got immediately defensive and was, to be honest, quite unfriendly. I explained that I had no desire to be a ‘complainer’ (I have stayed many hotels over the years and have never registered a complaint) but that this was a special occasion trip and I wanted our hotel to be both comfortable and restful (which this one was not). I asked that I be refunded the additional two nights and the property manager flatly refused, saying it was ‘impossible’. She offered other rooms so I asked her if the mattresses were the same on those rooms and whether they were in the flight path, which they were. I thanked her and checked out. The hotel was kind enough to hold our luggage until we returned later that afternoon, which I appreciated. I, again, would not write a poor review had it not been for the property manager’s reaction. I also was frustrated with Booking.com personnel who were, quite honestly, unhelpful. I have booked through this website hundreds of times and the only help I got was the assurance they would ask the property to refund our remaining two-night stay and that they would let me know the hotel’s response within 48 hours. As far as I’m aware, Booking.com did not advocate on my behalf and the 48 hour response period was ludicrous given that I was already at the property and needed to resolve the issue immediately.
One of the most beautiful courtyards that we saw in Oaxaca City!
