The building, old colonial architecture. Nice quiet setting. Spacious, airy, elegant. Lovely decor, furniture. Pool/Garden area tranquil. Well maintained.

What a lovely place. In our 3 weeks in Sri Lanka we stayed in some of the best hotels including heritance and wild coast and experienced fantastic service, but in my family’s opinion this was the best place we stayed. That is a high bar.
The villa is beautiful, sympathetically restored, tastefully decorated and ideally positioned to explore the fort. We had the whole villa for our family of 4 including two teens. When we walked in their jaws dropped and from the moment we arrived we were beautifully looked after - no one wanted to leave and their only complaint was that I hadn’t booked for longer.
We were looked after by a team of two, Erandika and Nirmal who couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. Erandika makes excellent breakfasts and if he offers you a barbecue then take it. They get the balance of service and giving you the space to relax just right, appearing at just the right moments and were always a pleasure to deal with.

Une vie de palais dans cette incroyable villa. Nous étions les seuls clients pendant deux jours et avons profité de la piscine et de la superbe pièce à vivre à la décoration raffinée comme si nous étions chez nous ! Merci en particulier à Nirmal et aussi Butler pour leur accueil si souriant, et la grande disponibilité, et au chef Erandaka qui nous a éblouis avec son petit-déjeuner. Une expérience exceptionnelle.

300年历史荷兰人修建的历史大宅，经过老板的精心修缮。虽然是这家老板在斯里兰卡经营的7座民宿中最小的一座，但是非常有品味。实木的大梁，开片风格地砖让人一觉梦回百年前。厨师Erandaka做的菜非常好吃，是本次我在斯里兰卡7天最好吃的一次早餐。管家小哥Nirmal阳光帅气，说话温柔，办事可靠。整体给10分。

De villa en de kamer waren fantastisch mooi. Het personeel uiterst vriendelijk! Bedden comfortabel. Alles klopte hier gewoon! Ontbijt werd voor ons romantisch bij het zwembad in de tuin geserveerd.

The breakfast was made fresh to order and was simply the best authentic Sri lankan food we ate during our 2 week visit. The pool was great too.
A stunning old colonial home converted to sheer luxury!!!!

Staying at this 300-year-old heritage hotel was like stepping back in time—the colonial charm, antique furnishings, and timeless aura made every moment magical. The location couldn't be better: right next to the ancient city gate, it made exploring the historic fort effortless.

The property boasts a lush garden, perfect for morning coffee or evening reads. Every morning, the delightful sound of children's singing drifted over from the nearby school—a sweet, local touch that added so much warmth to the stay.

What truly set this place apart was the staff. The young man Erandaka Nirmal who looked after us was incredibly thoughtful, and genuinely kind, always going the extra mile with a smile.

And the breakfast—absolutely exquisite! We had the choice between Western classics and traditional Sri Lankan dishes, both beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. It was the perfect start to each day.

Highly recommended for anyone seeking history, heart, and hospitality in one unforgettable package. Can’t wait to return!

This place is incredible. From the first moment we opened the door and looked through the 300 year old villa to the pool in the courtyard, wow! We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves, after having booked the upstairs room. The bedroom, living spaces, furniture,, verandas and pool are all stunning. We must also mention the fabulous staff, Erandaka and Nirmal who were so friendly and looked after us so well. Erandaka's breakfasts are truly incredible.
There is also a great seafod restaurant next door and you are only a couple of minutes walk to the fort wall.

Un petit coin de Paradis. La villa est très belle, très agréable, le personnel incroyablement gentil et professionnel ! Un gros coup de cœur pour l'excellent petit déjeuner servi au bord de la piscine.

This is a fantastic villa right in the centre of Galle. Pool made it extra special.
The rooms are amazing and the staff were really helpful, excellent food.
This was a dream stay but also good value.
