Toppenhotell med bästa läge.
Pros:

Mycket fint skick även om hotellet är gammalt. Smakfullt inrett. Toppenläge vid strandpromenaden.

Nice stop on a long drive. Facilities very good and outlook was lovely

Pool was a nice bonus and the free rowing boats. Nice access onto fjordside walk.

No dinner service and limited choices in town on a Sunday.

מיקום טוב צופה על הפיורד, אבל גם סמוך מאד לכביש הכניסה לעיירה.
מאחר ונדרשנו לצאת מוקדם בבוקר, דאגו לנו לכריכים לקחת וכוס קפה.
יש במלון אפשרות לסירות משוטים בחינם, או סירת מנוע בתשלום וכן אפשרות להשכרת אופניים חשמליים.

Pros:

Een mooi, pittoresk hotel direct aan het Sognefjord. Door de foto’s en beschrijvingen in de gangen voelt het hotel ook een beetje als een museum. De kamers zijn leuk ingericht, met een duidelijke knipoog naar het verleden. De bedden en de douche zijn ruim voldoende. Leuk is de tuin, waar je ’s middags na een activiteit nog heerlijk kunt genieten van de omgeving, bijvoorbeeld onder het genot van een drankje. Of neem een duik in het kleine zwembad.
Leuk is ook dat je bij het hotel gratis roeibootjes voor een uur of twee kunt gebruiken om het fjord op een andere manier te ontdekken.

Cons:

Sogndal is overigens een studentenstadje. Mede daardoor is het aanbod van goede restaurants beperkt en zijn er vooral wat fastfoodrestaurants en koffiebarretjes. In het grote winkelcentrum zit ook horeca, maar die zou ik sowieso niet aanraden.

Nice stop while road tripping
Pros:

Nice location on fiord, clean room with balcony large sliding door. Comfortable bed and ease to walking path.
