Unbedingt ausprobieren!
Pros:

Geräumige Zimmer (auch die Standard Doppel), alle mit tollem Ausblick auf die Algarve Küste (Portimao und Lagos}, bequeme Betten, perfekte Verdunklung, Kühlschrank, kl. Kaffee-/Teeküche..
Pool ebenfalls schön, auch von da beste Ausblicke auf's Meer.
Last but not least: In komfortabler Laufentfernung (400/500m) gibt es zwei lohnende Restaurants.

Cons:

Alles okay, aber man sollte wissen, dass hier gerade ein Renovierungs-/Umgestaltung Prozess ablâuft. Es gibt durchaus "Ecken", wo es noch zu tun gibt.
Die schlechten Bewertungen des ursprünglichen Hotels (Estalagem Abrigo da Montanha) halten wohl auch Gäste ab, hier ein paar Tage zu verbringen. Folglich ist wenig Personal (dieses aber sehr nett und hilfsbereit) vor Ort und manches muss per Handy geregelt werden. Geht, ist kein Problem.

ARRIVED AT 5.15PM . RECEPTION LOCKED. BOY GAVE US KEY TO ROOM AND HOTEL. NO ENGLISH. WHOLE PLACE SEEMED EMPTY. NO WHERE TO EAT OR DRINK . NO ADVICE WHERE TO GO.
BATHROOM URGENT NEED OF RENOVATION. MOULD ON CEILING. BROKEN SHOWER HOLDER.
NO COVER FOR THE BED. KETTLE BUT NO NORMAL TEA OR MILK OR CLEAN CUPS. AIR CON BARELY WORKED . IVERY LOUD NOISE SO NOT USEABLE.
HAVE ASKED FOR FULL REFUND OF TWO DAYS. NO RESPONSE FROM THE HOTEL.

Disappointing and certainly not 4 *
Cons:

The whole property is very run down , probably was nice in the 1980s - it looks like improving it is stalled and building materials are scattered around complete with large skip outside. Pool water was full of insects. Aircon was very loud and ineffective .

Sehr gute Ausgangslage für Wanderungen. Schöner erholsamer Aufenthalt.

Die Einrichtung in der Suite ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber es soll nach und nach renoviert werden.

Ich würde da nicht mehr hingehen.
Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels ist zwar hervorragend, der Rest aber nicht. Man hat das Gefühl, dass das Hotel schlecht besucht ist, entsprechend eingeschränkt ist der Service. Das Zimmer war ok, aber das Frühstück würde ich als minimalistisch bezeichnen.

Cons:

Das Personal ist zwar bemüht, aber dilettantisch. Die Zimmer sind einfach und das Frühstück enttäuschend. Vielleicht lag das auch daran, dass ich nicht auf den Preis geschaut habe und nicht gesehen habe, wie billig das Hotel ist. Aber das Hotel war sehr schlecht besucht und bei weitem nicht ausgelastet. Das spricht für sich.
