Nice surroundings, but the rooms are in serious need of modernization.
Pros:

The natural surroundings are pleasant and peaceful. The staff I interacted with were friendly and cooperative.

Cons:

The room was very basic, dull and outdated, and unfortunately not a comfortable place to spend much time in. There was no TV, the coffee machine did not work, and the furnishings and overall atmosphere felt very old-fashioned. I was glad I was here mainly for work and didn’t need to spend much time in the room.

Comfortable, welcoming and clean hotel in the woderful city of Haarlem, easy access to Amsterdam via train.
Pros:

Small hotel in the city center, charming, staff is hospitable, generous.

Cons:

It is in the midst of many restaurants and consequential nightlife, we enjoyed our room though revelers were still going strong overnight.

A comfortable stay in a lovely old building in the square in centre of old town.
Pros:

Location was in centre of old town and easy walk from station.
A small breakfast was available which suited us.

Cons:

Decoration of our room was very dark. Only small window so not much natural light.

Fantastic short break, in beautiful Haarlem, made better by staying at Hotel ML.
Pros:

Hotel ML is in the very heart of this lovely historic City. Our view from our hotel room was over the cathedral and into the q square with cosy bars and restaurants. To the left of the hotel as short walk to the Riverside with bars and restaurants and canal boar trip (which is a must do). Ahead from the hotel the main square and market with a variety of bars and restaurants and small intimate streets to explore. Hotel ML itself has a Michelin star restaurant, and we had the pleasure to speak with the proprietor and chef. We did not sample the Michelin cuisine but we did have a wonderful meal in ML Bistro. Highly recommended. Everything you need, busy shopping streets, historic sites and Haarlem Train station with regular train journeys to Amsterdam, is all within 20 minutes gentle walk from the Hotel. Then after a tiring day sightseeing or a relaxing evening in the square it is back to this lovely Hotel, and our expansive room, with great views and a super comfortable bed.

Cons:

There was nothing I did not like about Hotel ML - but watch out for the bikes when you're out and about.
