Recommended place in Panjakent
Pros:

Good location, just meters away from the bazar. They were very nice and helped me organize a trip to the 7 lakes. Breakfast is ok, room is large and comfortable.

Sehr freundlicher Inhaber, kann auch Touren zu den 7 lakes oder Taxitransfers in andere Städte vermitteln. Gutes Frühstück, sehr sauber, ruhig, obwohl optimal zentral gelegen. 100% empfehlenswert.

The Host is beyond helpful! Stay here!!!
Pros:

The location is perfect…you can walk to Ancient Penjakent, the market, the supermarket, and the History Museum. I was given an upgrade upon arrival and the room was HUGE with a balcony. I appreciated the little fridge to keep beverages cold.
Breakfast was delicious (eggs, bread, fruit and pancake). Wifi, hot water and A/C all worked great.

However, the absolute best thing about this hotel is Maksud, the host. He was beyond helpful…as seeing my transportation questions before arrival, organizing a shared group trip to Seven Lakes (definitely recommend) and coordinating my shared taxi to Khujand with pick up right at hotel. He is a kind man who truly cares that his guests are happy with the hotel and enjoy their stay in his city.

Cons:

These are all minor issues.

I did find the bed a little hard. Also, if you are a light sleeper like me, you might find the rooms facing the Main Street a little noisy.

I would also recommend having a little kettle in each room for tea in the being.?

Great hotel in Panjakent
Pros:

The hotel is perfectly located to walk around Panjakent. The room was enormous, way bigger than what we expected. It was also clean and comfortable. The hotel looks a bit old-fashioned, but for us that was a plus! The owner is very nice, as the rest of the staff. I'd stay there again.

Pros:

Good location, very clean room, good breakfast. Helped finding a 4 wheel drive car at a reasonable price to take us to the seven lakes. I accidently left my handbag at the breakfast room but it was returned to me immediately, can't say thank you enough for this!!

Take your shoes off and put on the cozy slippers - metaphorically!
Pros:

The manager is super friendly and endlessly helpful. He will organize you all sorts of things and excursions at reasonable prices. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. Rooms are big and beds are soft enough. Location is good, several restaurants are nearby, as is the bazaar.

Cons:

The shower pressure was super low - we had to turn a secret knob to get it anywhere reasonable.

Excellent choice for a comfortable overnight stay
Pros:

We enjoyed our overnight stay at this friendly hotel in the center of Panjakent. The location is excellent, very close to the central bazaar and restaurants. Although unassuming from the outside, on the inside the hotel is very spacious and welcoming. The manager of the hotel was extremely friendly and helped us arrange transport to our next destination. Overall the experience was very positive!

Cons:

Just a minor point: We found the mattress of the bed to be quite hard.

Great old style centrally located hotel
Pros:

We were greeted by a super helpful and friendly gentleman at the reception who went out of his way to chat and give advice. The hotel is very central with everything close by. Room was dated (In a good way), enormous, clean and with comfy beds. Bathroom was also huge and well equipped. Breakfast was served with plenty of fresh fruit, pancakes, eggs, jam, bread and yogurt.

Cons:

Nothing. It was just perfect
