virkelig en skøn ferie
Pros:

Should be called Eden Encampment
Pros:

I booked the hotel for thirty days and ended leaving after 4 days.

The pictures may look pretty and filtered, and the name sounds wonderful. But the experience was not, this place should be named Eden Encampment. How this is labeled as a 3 star hotel is beyond me. This is at most a 1 star hotel on its best day.

It was advertised on hotel.com as having free wifi, to my dismay there was NO WIFI. The owner tried to play it off by providing me with a sim card 2 days later, I was charged for loading data on it for some internet.

I booked a queen bed on the 2nd floor, and was put on the first floor with a full bed. The wooden bed frame itself makes you feel claustrophobic, I can reach both ends from head to toe, and I am only 5'6". There is only a ceiling fan in the room, and often times there is blackouts in the city. One night the power went off for at least 6 hours, leaving for a sweltering night without the fan. The breaker box was also outside the wall of my room, making it more intrusive everytime the maintenance guy reset it.

The shower had barely a trickle for water pressure. The toilet kept flowing past the fill line, I would have to adjust and wiggle the fill sensor.

Only the owner has the only key to the front entrance, they will sometimes open it when they are there, most of the times it's closed. You will have to use the backdoor. It leads to the beach about 160 meters away through a narrow alleyway.

Enkel standard
Pros:

Det ble veldig varmt på rommet om natten.
Husk det er ingen aircondition.
Takviften går sakte fart om natten pga. lav spenning.

Wished we had chosen somewhere else!
Pros:

Close to a nice beach

Cons:

No wifi at any time in any location. They offered hotspot, but this was not convenient. Constant blackouts. No power in water so could not shower most times of the day. Lots of mosquitoes. Rooms were unpleasant. Outrageously over-priced and sub-standard food which was in small portions and left us unsatisfied and still hungry. Would NOT recommend.

I really enjoyed my time in Eden Paradise, it was like living in a little forest full of beautiful plants! :)

The lack of WiFi for my whole stay

Lovely peaceful family-run place, very close to the beach
Pros:

Lovely little place just one or two minutes from a nice peaceful beach. Really friendly and helpful owners. Nice comfy room with good mosquito nets. We had a delicious meal here one night as well.

Cons:

There's no air conditioning - but we knew this as it's clear from the description, and for the price it's reasonable not to expect air con! The only problem - which is out of the owners' hands - is that there are frequent power cuts, often in the night, so the fan stops working and it can get very hot. I spoke to someone staying at one of the more expensive hotels on the beach & they said they had the same problem!

Michamwi guest house with a family vibe
Pros:

The guest house is only a few minutes walk to the beach. The staff and owners are very friendly and quick to provide service. The breakfast was delicious and the room itself good value for the price.

Cons:

The water pressure in my room wasn't very regular but the owner said the problem would be fixed since as soon as possible.

Superb
Pros:

The hotel was exactly I was looking for: boutique hotel in the middle of nature, very clean, near by the beach, restaurants & beach bars. The blue lagoon is 10 minutes away from the hotel.
Sandra, the owner, is very welcoming, she makes you feel at home. I have really enjoyed my stay there, I ll recommend it a lot

Excellent stay for the reasonable cost
Pros:

The breakfast was nice like a family one with little variations every day. It gave me an idea what is the best orange marmalade I ever tried in E. Africa (will not advertise here ;) ).
The location is good with ease walk access to a lot of things - beach, small shops, village bar.

AMAZING STAY!!
Pros:

This certainly exceeded my expectations! I stayed for a week alone (really, I was the inly guest) and it was perfect. The Staff is so friendly and welcoming, felt at home immediately.
The place is located one minute away from a white sand beautiful beach. The room was new, big shower, & the bed very comfortable. The fan worked perfectly.
The breakfast amazing with fruits, fresh tropical juice, and home-made pancakes!
Free drinking water, and I had lunch there and they made a special vegan dish for me, super tasty veggie curry and rice.
I was skeptical when I read the other reviews, but this is definitely an excellent place to stay. 100% recommend.
Thank you Mohammed for the lovely food, and big thanks to Salum, the owner, who gave me the opportunity of witnessing a Zanzibar Village wedding. Will stay in my mind forever 🌞
Many blessings to you.

Cons:

There is a big construction going on close by, so there are a few noises from time to time, but nothing that disturbs the great peace of this place
