Pros:

The breakfast is good. it doesn’t have a huge selection, but what is offered tastes great, especially the homemade egg salad. Additionally, the parking lot is large and provides plenty of space.

Cons:

We had agreed on a check-in time between 1:00 PM and 2:00 PM, but by 2:00 PM nobody was there (and we had to attend a wedding at 3:00 PM). Over the phone, we and other guests were guided to search for keys, only to find out that the hotel/our room was apparently overbooked, meaning we did not get the room we had originally booked. After we insisted, someone finally showed up around 2:20 PM, but no one on-site could explain why our room had been given away to other guests, even though we could show a valid booking confirmation for it. The price difference was refunded, however.
​That said, the room we were reassigned to had terrible soundproofing. You could hear other guests showering or coughing extremely loudly. In fact, hearing neighbors shower was louder than using our own shower. On top of that, the room was only accessible via a small staircase. While this wasn't an issue for us personally, the room we originally booked was supposed to be accessible/disability-friendly, which was definitely not the case for the room we were given.

Pros:

Good breakfast and staff very friendly. I came to the holiday inn during the evening and the owner help me to find the room's keys by giving me instructions at the phone.

Cons:

The inn is located in the country, quite far from the bus stop (about 1,7 Km) so if you travel by public transport you have to walk a lot. It would have been great if there was the possibility to rent a bike but unfortunately this service was not available.
There's a bar/restaurant at the ground floor but it works only for breakfast time. Self check-in was not specified when i bought the reservation.

Pros:

Vanaf binnenkomst laat de herbergier je je heel welkom voelen. Fijne kamers en ook het ontbijt is goed verzorgd.

Cons:

Niks eigenlijk. Misschien voor mensen die tv willen kijken dat ze rekening houden dat het een heel klein scherm is.

Sehr angenehmer Aufenthalt
Pros:

Wunderbare idyllische Lage. Von Aachen aus 20 Autominuten entfernt. Zimmer sauber und Bett bequem.
Super Frühstücksbuffet mit allem was das Herz begehrt.
Herzliches Wirtepaar.

Cons:

Ohne fremde Hilfe hätten wir die Eigentümer nicht erreicht am Anreisetag. Die Telefonnummer hat nicht gestimmt.

Ik heb ter plaatse geannuleerd met akkoord van de verhuurder. Hoop dat booking dat netjes afgewerkt.
Pros:

De herberg is al jaren gesloten. Niets te eten niets te drinken niet verzorgd. Aan met mos begroeide voordeur hing een telefoonnummer wat de gast zou moeten bellen. Ik werd zo naar de achterkant geloodst waar ik vanachter een kamertje kon betreden. Had geen enkel relatie met het beeld wat ik heb van een herherberg. Ik kwam niet om te slapen. Ik kwam om te genieten en dat was volledig niet aanwezig. Ik heb dan ook ter plaatse telefonisch met de dame de boeking geannuleerd. Zoals het ermee akkoord en zou het doorgeven aan booking. Daar heb ik tot op nu nog niets van gehoord.

Cons:

Zaak is al lang buiten bedrijf, maar je kunt er wel slapen. Omving is onverzorgd.

A lovely, rustic hide away in the countryside
Pros:

Lovely, rustic setting with a quiet and relaxing atmosphere. We were greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. The garden was great to relax in after a day of travel and the honesty bar was a welcome reminder of a society where people trusted each other.
Breakfast was very nice, with a good selection of breads, cheeses, fruit and drinks.

Prachtige herberg wordt gedegradeerd tot matig b&b
Pros:

Mooi gelegen in Holset. De omgeving is prachtig.

Cons:

Het is geen herberg, maar een b&b. Zonde. Er is veel meer van te maken. Geen gastvrijheid ervaren (nog nooit meegemaakt in Limburg). Geen prijslijst voor drankjes aanwezig. Nadien geen factuur en alleen cash betalen (waanzinnige prijzen). Geen airco aanwezig, maar dat wist ik vooraf.
