Very good

Great place to stay near the rainforest. The staff were so friendly and helpful with organising our buses for us. The AC was very powerful and we slept so well. The food was also delicious
Great location, comfy beds,
Place was cleaned well, but they don't change the sheets on the dorm beds between guests. They just tidy the beds up. I watched two cleanings over 2 days.
The room I stayed in looked like the pictures, clean, new, and visually pleasant. It opened to an outdoor deck and patio that were also quite cute, and trees and flowers around. Though flimsily built, nothing was exactly broken. Filtered water provided in the kitchen. Staff was never impatient or actively rude. Very close to the national park ferry (maybe five minutes' walk), and even closer to a local convenience store that stays open until 10pm and has good iced coffee during the day. Honestly, despite being mediocre on balance, I think all the budget accommodations around here are, so I might still recommend it if none of the specific problems I mention below is a dealbreaker for you.
I didn't have a very good check-in experience. They had left a distracted and untrained young person to cover the reception, who forgot important things like giving me the wifi password, toilet paper, and even room key, with me having to go look for someone to get these things solved once I realized it later. In fact, they couldn't find the room key, and told me I had to wait until later to get it from a more senior staff member, which meant I had to leave my room unlocked with all luggage in it while I went to dinner (though they were probably right that it was still totally safe). Despite the rooms and patio being very beautiful, the main building was a mess, cluttered and grubby and without any information on what was for guests or not (part of it looked like a restaurant kitchen). As far as I could tell, there was no fridge for guests to use. As for the room itself, there was zero sound insulation (I could easily hear the people in the neighboring room talking), the sliding door for the bathroom was almost unusable because it was constantly getting stuck, and the air conditioning was weak (very slow to cool down the room). They have a rule that the front gate of the hostel is locked from something like 11pm to 7am, unless you call them to open it, which seems like could be a problem in an emergency or if you want to go out really early (I can't think of any reason you'd be out late - everything closes before that, and all the nocturnal wildlife is on the other side of the river).

The owner is genuine and nice. Breakfast was basic but the coffee was amazing!
Très bien dormi dans la chambre privée. Grand lit et salle de bain. Clim disponible.
