A wonderfully welcoming homestay with exceptional value for money
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at Cat Ba Rustic Homestay and would happily recommend it to others. We deliberately chose a place away from the main town to enjoy a quieter setting, and this homestay turned out to be an excellent choice.

We had two rooms, each with two queen-size beds. The mattresses were comfortable, and the linen was very clean. The property offers fantastic value for money, with everything well maintained and thoughtfully provided.

The biggest highlight was our hostess, Linh, who was exceptionally warm, kind and helpful. We were running late on our way to the homestay, and she had lunch ready for us when we arrived... such a thoughtful gesture, and the kids were delighted! She also went out of her way to help us after we had a scooter mishap on the road. Her family, the kids, their lovely cat and everyone else we met made us feel genuinely welcome.

The swimming pool was small but lovely, and the kids particularly enjoyed playing with the pool toys. Linh also helped arrange a taxi with a very friendly local driver, who was one of their neighbours, for our trips to and from town. Since Grab isn't available on the island, this was especially helpful.

The location worked very well for us. Although it is outside the main town, the homestay is conveniently situated on the main road connecting the ferry terminal and the town, making it easy to get around while enjoying a more relaxed setting.

Cons:

A small note for future guests: there is a bar across the road that occasionally plays music until around 9–9:30 pm. This wasn't a significant issue for us, but it may be worth knowing if you are a particularly light sleeper.

Amazing homestay
Pros:

Great place so beautiful. View of green fields and buffalos from the windows.

Easy access from the bus from Hanoi (drop off and pick up for Lan Ha boat tour directly at the homestay).

Also, the owner and her children are very lovely and are very helpful for everything. You can rent a motorbike directly at the homestay, which makes it so easy to discover the island. The homestay also serves lunch, diner and breakfast 😊

Don’t hesitate staying there, especially if you rent the motorbike for the first time because it’s easy access directly to the main road. The owner let us test drive the motorbike a bit to get confortable which was great 😊😊

Sehr entspannt, ich würde wiederkommen
Pros:

Schönes Homestay in ruhiger Lage, Hund und Katze sind sehr zutraulich. Der Pool ist gepflegt, mein Zimmer war groß, hatte einen Balkon mit Blick auf Wasserbüffel, das Bett war sehr bequem und alles war super sauber. Linh die Besitzerin ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und spricht sehr gut englisch. Das Frühstück war köstlich und es gab eine gute Auswahl. Ich hab mich wohl gefühlt und meinen Aufenthalt um 3 Tage verlängert.

Cons:

Nahe der Hauptstraße, nachts aber trotzdem ruhig.

Perfect!
Pros:

It was a lovely bungalow with a nice pool in the front and a nice view in the back. Linh is a very friendly and lovely host. So is the whole family. We felt really at home and had good conversations and learnt a lot about Vietnamese daily life. I would really recommend this place if you want to stay a bit outside the town, but with a bus-stop right outside the door.

A bit close to the road but this didn’t bother us as it was peaceful at night

Pros:

Nous avons été très bien accueilli avec de la nourriture et le thé traditionnel, personnel très agréable et disponible vraiment appréciable!
La piscine au milieu des logements était très bien nous avions vue depuis notre chambre sur les champs.
Nous avons fait laver notre linge moyennant un supplément et un service de taxi est honoré par les propriétaires en cas de besoin. Nous avons aussi pu louer un scooter sur place

Cons:

Il n'y avait pas de serviettes car il fallait payer un supplément, la salle de bain comprend le WC c'est un peu petit
Le logement est situé en bord de route principal mais nous n'avons pas été impacté par le bruit.
Il manquait une bouilloire dans la chambre ce qui aurait pu la rendre plus agréable encore.

Pros:

I had a great stay at Rustic. The owners are so nice and helpful, I enjoy spenidng with all the family. The room was confortable with functionning shower. Walls are thin so you hear a bit the noise from outside. Motorbike are available, a bit old but works perfectly

Kleine Bungalow mit Pool und freundliche Gastgeber
Pros:

Klein aber fein, daher kann ich diese Anlage empfehlen! Zudem kann dort einen Roller mieten!
Das Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit daher ist dies als top zu betrachten 👍🏻
