Pros:

Our stay at Maisha Matamu Boutique Hotel was truly exceptional. The hotel is beautiful, with spacious and tastefully decorated rooms that immediately make you feel at home. One of its most unique features is its direct connection to the beach, allowing you to enjoy the ocean just steps away from your room.
The hotel offers private sunbeds overlooking the sea, making it the perfect place to relax while taking in the stunning views. With only a limited number of rooms, the atmosphere is peaceful and intimate, and the service feels genuinely personal. Every member of the staff was incredibly kind, attentive, and always ready to help.
The food was delicious throughout our stay, and the cocktails were of outstanding quality—some of the best we had during our trip. A special mention goes to the lodge manager, who was exceptionally warm and welcoming. She was always available for recommendations or assistance and genuinely enjoyed chatting with guests, adding a personal touch that made our stay even more memorable.
Breakfast is served overlooking the kitchen and the ocean, offering a wonderful view as the sea changes with the tides and local life slowly comes to life each morning. It’s a peaceful and unforgettable way to start the day.
The hotel is also ideally located close to many activities and excursions, making it a perfect destination for every type of traveler. Einfach nur traumhaft
Pros:

Wir wurden bereits sehr herzlich willkommen geheissen. Das ganze Team war sehr freundlich, zuvorkommend & hilfsbereit - grandios! Das Essen jeden Tag einfach grossartig.
Die Zimmer immer sehr sauber und gepflegte Umgebung.
Wir haben das ganze Team ins Herzen geschlossen und waren etwas wehmütig weiter zu ziehen.
Wir können das Hotel wärmsten weiterempfehlen, ein „Muss“ auf Sansibar.
Nochmals vielen herzlichen Dank für alles, ihr seid ein grossartiges Team.

Pros:

The hotel’s location in relation to the village is perfect. The whole atmosphere is lovely, with the beautiful greenery-lined path and the white walls creating a really pleasant and relaxing setting. The food is also excellent.

Cons:

One thing we liked less was the breakfast concept, as we had to choose between a salty or a sweet option. We would have preferred smaller portions with the option to mix and match different flavours.

Helt fantastisk sted! Personalet var de beste vi møtte, à la carte-frokosten var en opplevelse i seg selv, og hele hotellet var helt nydelig. Dette var uten tvil den beste overnattingen vi hadde på Zanzibar. Vi kommer definitivt tilbake!

Pros:

Everything was perfect, great location, great breakfast and access to the beach at the property. The customer service was on point; this reminded me why I love boutique hotels. You could easily spend your entire vacation here without needing to leave the hotel

Pleasant environment
Pros:

Well placed, close to everything but set at a quiet location so not to many beach sellers. The Restaurant, bar, pool, beach set up is cozy neat and clean. Can eat upstairs or at the beach bar area. Overall a pleasant setup.
The food was really nice (coffee could do with an upgrade).

Cons:

The room was clean but we did not enjoy our room.
Dated, clumsy and uncomfortable comes to mind.
I had to jump to try and get onto my bed. The built in side table was at such an awkward angle everything just slides off, no shade on glaring bedside lights.
We were given one thin towel each (used the beach towel to dry my hair).

A couple of tea bags, one slip of sugar no coffee or milk made up the “coffee station “ for 2 people.

Pillows were really lumpy and uncomfortable that kept slipping down between built in bed and wall.

I like the resort, I just can’t say that I enjoyed the bedroom.

Traumlage und toller Service
Pros:

Sehr tolle Lage, direkt am Meer. Vom Zimmer zum Strand ca. 20 Sekunden. Personal sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Auf Sauberkeit wird Wert gelegt. Ich war vor 3 Jahren schon da, seitdem ist es deutlich professioneller geworden. Inzwischen sind auch genug schattige Liegen direkt und mit Blick auf dem Strand da. Zimmer war sehr geräumig.

Einfach Hervorragend!!
Pros:

Die Lage des Hotels war sehr gut!
Der direkte Strandabschnitt des Hotels war Hervorragend.
Die Besitzerinnen sowie das Personal waren rund um die Uhr für die Gäste da - es war sehr familiär.
Zusammenfassend war es ein sehr gelungener und erholsamer Urlaub.

Cons:

Nach längerem Aufenthalt wirkt das Frühstück etwas monoton was aber nicht wirklich schlimm ist fußläufig sind viele Cafés innerhalb 5 Minuten erreichbar.

It is clean, beautifully decorated, safe and lovely. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They did their best.

Cons:

Nothing. One specific thing that can be improved for me is the coffee in the breakfast :) It’s okay, but it can be better in terms of taste and intensity.

Die Unterkunft ist einfach ein absoluter Traum! Schon bei der Ankunft fühlt man sich sofort wie im perfekten Traumurlaub. Alles ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet, die Zimmer sind makellos sauber und die gesamte Anlage strahlt eine angenehme und entspannte Atmosphäre aus.

Besonders hervorheben möchte ich das Personal: So freundlich, herzlich und hilfsbereit wird man wirklich nur selten empfangen. Das gesamte Team hat unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht und war jederzeit aufmerksam und zuvorkommend.

Ich habe in meinen Urlauben nur selten ein so außergewöhnlich freundliches und engagiertes Personal erlebt. Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und würden jederzeit wiederkommen. Eine klare Empfehlung!

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt von 2 auf 8 Tagen verlängert!

Fijne locatie, ontzettend mooi!
Pros:

Heerlijke locatie direct aan prachtig strand. Wordt ontzettend goed onderhouden en schoon gehouden. Elke dag harken ze het zand, zie je tuinmannen en schoonmakers bezig. Zwembad is heerlijk en lekkere cocktails! Ontbijt kan je elke dag van de kaart kiezen.

Cons:

Het bed om de kamer is mega groot, maar wel heel erg hard met springveren ( moet je van houden). I.v.m. de muggen miste we de klamboe
