Fantastic hotel run by people who care and it showed.
Pros:

What a cracker of a hotel. You can always tell when the people that run them care. From check in to check out it was excellent. Evening meal was a delight and breakfast fantastic to start are day exploring on a short stay on the NC500.

A perfect home-away-from-home with lovely owners, excellent food, great location and service.
Pros:

5 stars! A wonderful stay. Emma and Ewan, the owners, were absolutely lovely and made us feel so welcome. The location is perfect, easy to explore nearby sights, and the food was excellent with very attentive service. Our room was comfortable and spotless, and the bar and facilities were top-notch. It truly felt like a home away from home. We’ll definitely be back!

Warm welcome, good location for Orkney ferry and castle of Mey

Cons:

Poor quality bathroom with rusty fittings, leaking shower etc
We were given a disabled setup wetroom bathroom which wasn't ideal to use.
Pod coffee machine in the room but no pods provided. Whats the point?
No tissues in the rooms
Inflexible breakfast timings. Only 1 table every 20 minute slot.
Small portions. Felt unnecessarily tight.
Lack of understanding of food intolerance - chef suggested it was "a choice'

Everything. The hotel is a Jewel on the North Coast of Scotland. Easy and more than adequate parking. Excellent and attentive welcome. Superb dinner. Excellent breakfast. Rooms were of the highest quality.

The owners deserve every compliment for the charm and quality they have brought to an old building. I could not recommend this hotel more highly. as a Genius Level 3 traveller I've never been more satisfied.
