Our two-night stay at Zion Ella was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our entire Sri Lankan holiday!

If there is one reason I would recommend staying at Zion Ella, it would have to be the absolutely breathtaking views. The scenery is simply spectacular, and waking up to those beautiful surroundings was an experience in itself. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit, relax, and admire the natural beauty of Ella.

We had booked two family rooms, both equipped with bunk beds, which turned out to be fantastic for the children! They absolutely loved the setup and had a wonderful time moving between the rooms and enjoying their own little space. It made the stay particularly enjoyable for our families.

The hospitality was another major highlight. Every member of the team was incredibly welcoming, attentive, and genuinely interested in making sure we were comfortable. The level of care and attention we received throughout our stay was excellent, and we truly appreciated the effort everyone put in.

We also had a small birthday celebration during our stay, and the team kindly arranged a cake for us. They even joined in singing during breakfast that morning, which was such a thoughtful gesture and made the occasion extra special. These little moments are what make a holiday memorable, and we are genuinely grateful to the staff for making it happen.

Dinner was excellent, and the overall dining experience was very enjoyable.

The property also has a lovely swimming pool, which we were unfortunately unable to use because of the rainy weather during our visit. Nevertheless, the beautiful surroundings and views more than made up for One important point for future guests, particularly elderly travellers or anyone with mobility concerns:

The hotel is located along a steep access road, and depending on the type of vehicle you’re travelling in, it may not be possible to drive all the way up. A tuk-tuk may be necessary for getting to and from the property.

An incredible location in the mountains, with balcony's looking out to Ella Rock. The three bed apartment is clean and spacious with a private balcony, perfect for a family or group of friends. The on site restaurant provides a delicious buffet breakfast and a range of traditional and western dishes for dinner. All of the staff are incredible! Only stayed one night but wish I could have stayed for more!

The views were out of this world from the room and restaurant.
The staff were incredible. The duty manager (from Trinco) went out of his way to be helpful and give us advice.
The food was delicious - portions are huge!
Location is just outside Ella - only a few minutes walk.

It’s a very chill place with a beautiful pool, nice view and a very good breakfast. The rooms are good, with a nice terrace. It’s located perfectly in Ella aswell.

Beautiful views, great staff, clean and comfortable accommodation. A total gem only a short walk away from the main restaurant and bar area. Best of both worlds as its a serene and quiet for sleeping and relaxing by the pool. Highly recommend.

Fantastisch hotel. Goed restaurant, vriendelijk personeel, super kamers en uitzicht. Vlak bij centrum. Je komt hier echt tot rust. Ik vind het 4 sterren waard ipv 3
