Great location but not a good hotel.
Pros:

The location is excellent. The staff were very helpful

Cons:

Mildew in bathroom. No wifi in room which I didn’t know from the booking description. Very old hotel with few modern upgrades. Few available electrical outlets. Peeling paint and holes in carpets.

Nice location and wonderful staff but needs a major overhaul.
Pros:

Location was wonderful as wanted a spot within walking distance of terminal. Views were fabulous. Staff was very kind and helpful.

Cons:

Parking lots in front and back are extremely small and hard to maneuver. Very outdated and in need of renovation. WiFi spotty at times in room. Shower pan was so shallow that water would cascade over the edge onto the floor. Had to pile towels at edge to catch the water. Worked best to wet down, shut water off, lather up, rinse at a quick pace. Bathroom very small with sink in bedroom.

Pros:

Friendly helpful staff.

Cons:

Waste of money. Like a second rate lodging house. Appalling room quality. Left after one night. For the same price of £120/night we got a fabulous AA 4 star in the immediate area for our second night.

Don't do it!
Pros:

Location was the only good thing

Cons:

Everything else, you walk in and get that old smell, I went here on business 35-40 years ago and it looks like the front area has not been painted in that time, We got to the room, through lots of corridors that had seen better days. The room, the sheets were clean, the bed was ancient and not comfortable. The sink in the bedroom, was all cracked at the plug and should have been replaced years ago. The shower was old and black around the bottom. The room had the same old smell, not pleasant. I had made a very hasty booking without doing my usual checks, when I checked I realised what a huge mistake I had made but there was no cancellation policy. Looking at the phots I knew it wasn't going to be great, however it was much worse than expected. It is in fab location but that's all I can say about. We went out and stayed out as long as we could. We got up and left, we didn't wait to even try the breakfast, which I believe is ok. I can say the lady that checked us in was friendly. Its needing huge amount of money spent on it. Couldn't get a phone signal in the room, We were told the wifi only works in the reception area, that was true. The photos are not a true reflection of the reality.

Discusting, health hazard
Pros:

Not a thing.

Cons:

The worst place I have ever visited. Booked 3 separate rooms and had to leave immediately due to health concerns. The overall bedroom areas had ab unbearable smell of urine. All 3 rooms were dirty, had damp and mould and also 1 had blood on the bed sheets and the other had blood on the floor. Still haven't had a refund, owner doesn't seem to care and staff apparently can't help and you need to email the owner who doesn't respond. Having to report to trading standards and health and safety due to the condition. I have been in abandoned buildings which were nicer.

Pros:

Although the room was small for 2 people the facilities were adequate. The staff were great and breakfast was very good.

Cons:

Just the size was a bit cramped. It was only a one night stay so that was fine.

We had a delightful long weekend in Oban on the north-west coast of Scotland.
Pros:

The room was small but pleasant with a magnificent view over the Bay. We watched boats come in and out, including a group from a round-the-world clipper race. (We hadn't known about that). The staff are all really friendly and helpful - it feels like a family-run hotel, which it is. The full breakfast was excellent. A short walk takes you into the town of Oban.
The best thing is that it is genuinely dog-friendly. The dog was even given an unexpected breakfast sausage. There is also a pleasant dog walk though a wood a short distance behind the hotel.

Cons:

The hotel needs some renovation overall, but is pleasant enough for a 2star rated property. I believe it is now for sale, but will need a lot of upgrading to get any extra stars. There is parking at the front and rear of the hotel, but at busy times it can get rather crowded.
