Pros:

Very nice location with a sea-front view. Near the town centre as well, with lots of food options.

Adequate but disappointing. I was glad to have somewhere for the night and glad to escape, early.

The room and hotel were adequate for an emergency one-night stay . . . just.

Cons:

The hotel could have been warmer. It was as if the management had not been prepared for a normal Scottish October. The room (#6 single), although adequate, was in a very poor state and very much in need of an upgrade. It probably hadn't been touched for several decades. Actually, the entire hotel was similarly 'tired' (and chilly). While I was cleaning my teeth, a drip fell on my head. Looking up I could see a large blister on the ceiling. It was raining and the roof must have been leaking - fortunately into the basin. The damage was old and had been left unrepaired for ages. I feel sure other guests must have noticed and mentioned this in reviews. They might also have mentioned the unusual, strongly sprung door at the top of the stairs, right on the edge of the step - distinctly hazardous, particularly when you're weary and struggling with luggage.

For the money, it was the best value of our 10 day stay in Scotland.

Absolutely terrible.If I was tge planning officer I would condemn the place
Pros:

Nothing. The place was like a condemned building , the rooms weee run down and mouldy . The beds were so uncomfortable.

Cons:

Absolutely everything . It was worse than a homeless unit

I wouldn’t stay there again.
Pros:

It was near the shops, restaurants and ferry port. The bed was comfortable.

Cons:

It was dated, grubby and nothing in the room worked properly. We didn’t eat there because we were worried about hygiene.

Etablissement vieillot idéalement placé face à la mer
Pros:

Prendre le petit déjeuner face à la mer.
Le calme à 5mn à pied du centre ville par la corniche.

Cons:

Cet établissement a du être fantastique mais il a beaucoup vieilli, il y a même un poste de radio des années 50 dans la chambre. Le lavabo est séparé de la douche et se trouve juste à coté du lit, il y a de nombreux escaliers pour atteindre la chambre au premier étage, beaucoup de lampes ne fonctionnaient pas et la chambre manque de prises de courant.
Les horaires du petit déjeuner doivent être précisées à 10mn près la veille.

Would visit again.
Pros:

Very Freindly staff, location good, great value. Lovely views. The small menu for both lunch and dinner was limited but very well cooked, hot and really tasty. The breakfast was generous and hot and the staff were lovely.
Laura Ann was very helpful and Freindly, despite being the ‘face’ of a rather run down hotel. We had fun here, easy walk to town, unspoilt view of the sea.

Cons:

Very tired hotel In great Need of modernisation, especially en suite rooms. A previous review mentioned
‘Fawlty Towers’. Bear this in mind if you book. No pool, as previously stated. I would imagine a tad challenging for people with mobility issues. Remember this is a budget hotel. The staff appear to do their best.
