Pleasant enough
Lack of communication between staff ending with a threatening demand as some manager forgot to tell the staff/booking.com I had paid directly by phone. Fuming
Lovely pub and food was excellent especially breakfast was beautiful rooms comfortable and tidy lovely staff
Only slight moan tv in room was on side wall from bed creeking my neck to watch it
Beautiful pub with great rooms upstairs. We were in the area for a wedding and they kindly let us check in slightly early to be able to drop our things off before the reception. Everything was spotless, the bed was comfy and the breakfast in the morning was delicious.
The room was quite hot (though it was 30 degrees outside so not too surprising!)
Excellent rooms, staff amazing and food is delicious
Lovely country pub in a quiet location. Quirky decor and very friendly staff. The room was comfortable and bathroom was amazing! Breakfast was very tasty, all local produce.
There wasn’t anything we didn’t like.
The cosy bar.
Food very good
Cooked breakfast below par.
One of the waiters was miserable.
Not dog friendly lunch/ dinner but waiter at breakfast was lovely
Black out blinds needed
Was charged for a sausage at dinner and never got it.
Always friendly, great beer, exceptional food
Rustige locatie, gezellige plaats en kamer. Lekker eten
Unique, quirky and atmospheric. Amazing food and attentive happy staff.
The Swale room with a lovely balcony is perfect for your furry friend.
Nothing
A warm welcome, lovely room, fabulous food, and great staff.
Weirdly quirky. We enjoyed the idea of the little roof terrace, even though it was pouring down. Our room was excessively spacious. The breakfast was very good, and the staff friendly. It was an ideal location for what we wanted. Wife had the lamb for tea which was ace.
It felt tired, like it was in need of a spruce up. Single glazed windows, and weirdly thin walls meant we heard all the next rooms conversations through the night. Do we need an Alexa - especially one that loud folk in the room next door can control. Either the mattress or bed frame conspired to roll us from centre to edge. Evening meal was very large portion and while my wife's was good, mine was at best average, and for the price wasn't great value. Pretty rubbish selection of beers for a pub that close to Tadcaster.
Just felt a little like it was resting on its laurels and needed an update.
Cosy quaint and ideal for where we were heading. The room was very comfortable and the room size was perfect. Good sized bathroom. Fantastic breakfast choices and the staff were very welcoming, nothing too much trouble.
The room was sooo warm, but shouldn’t complain.
Good food, good staff, good location
Very tired decor in the room, mattress too small for the bed very uncomfortable
Very friendly nothing was too much trouble, loved the history of the place, food outstanding. Dog friendly but only saw well behaved dogs, lovely location.
Not a lot to not like
Decor a bit tired in places but did not distract from a great stay
Lovely quirky place with excellent food that we always look forward to going back to stay.
Absolutely nothing.
