We will stay here again next time we visit Yorkshire
Pros:

It was well placed for the historic houses we visited. The staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. Good meals and breakfast. Good room facilities including nice toiletries

I found the bed comfortable but my husband thought it was ok

Pleasant overall despite the bathroom
Cons:

The bathroom, was a wet room( disabled friendly) the shower overflowed the hot water in the sink was scalding and there was a massive crack that covered 2tiles in the shower area

A small, clean, friendly and overall superb country hotel
Pros:

Room was roomy and clean with super en-suite. There is an extensive freshly cooked breakfast menu. The evening meals were also well presented and delicious. The ambience is great and there is a lovely seating area downstairs for a drink or coffee. The staff were attentive and polite.

Cons:

We didn't like that the day we were leaving, they were fully booked so we couldn't stay an extra night! :)

Very welcoming and relaxed venue
Pros:

Decor of room. Staff attention to detail was excellent. We had to leave early on Sunday morning for a cricket event at Ampleforth which meant we would be too early for breakfast. The staff spotted this and put together a pastry breakfast we could take away with us.
