Colorful stay in old but hip Paris
Pros:

Special old neighborhood lodging on famous street in Bastille area. basic but very clean. Could use an extra electrical outlet per room and be prepared to lug your stuff up the narrow winding stairs to your room.
Great atmospheric historic bistro on ground floor serving simple old-school French and North African dishes extremely popular with young artistic crowd.

Cons:

Not for a quiet getaway as very popular night life scene on Rue de Lappe but nice to wake to to the sound of birds and tennis being played if you request a back room.

Bien pour une à deux nuits max.

Expérience mitigée.

À notre arrivée, alors que notre venue avait été confirmée à l’avance, le logement n’était finalement pas prêt.

Le principal problème concerne toutefois la femme de ménage. Alors qu’aucun ménage n’était prévu ce jour-là, elle est entrée dans notre chambre pendant notre absence. À notre retour, nous avons constaté que la porte, que nous avions pourtant fermée à clé, n’était plus verrouillée. Nous avons également remarqué la disparition d’un chargeur de téléphone.

Après vérification, il s’est avéré que la femme de ménage avait pris ce chargeur et l’avait déplacé dans une autre chambre. Le plus préoccupant reste qu’elle n’avait aucune raison d’entrer dans notre logement ce jour-là et qu’aucun ménage n’y a été effectué.

Le chargeur a finalement été retrouvé, mais cet incident a fortement entamé notre sentiment de sécurité et notre confiance.

En dehors de cela, l’hôtel est bien situé, à proximité des bars, des boîtes de nuit et des transports. Attention toutefois : le quartier est assez bruyant, surtout la nuit.

Ideal for short stays, very close to Place de la Bastille
Pros:

Recommended for short stays in Paris, you can reach the hotel from place de la Bastille (5 min walking). The staff is frindly and speaks English. Relatively clean for the French standards. The bathroom is ok, but small.

Cons:

I didn't need it, but the hotel has no lift so I wouldn't recommend if you have large bags. Also, no A/C in the room (for those who really neeed it).

L'emplacement. Le double vitrage

Cons:

Au moins l'état des serviettes et du tapis de douche qui était tout déchiré. L'accès direct à l'hôtel car il faut passer par le bistrot quand il est ouvert

Good for a single traveller for 1-2 days
Pros:

Great location, many good places to eat around. Couple of minutes from the metro, walking distance to Notre Dame.

Cons:

Walls are thin, the hotel is above the restaurant and on the street full with bars and nightclubs, so could hear the noise a little. Overall if you are not bothered by noise it’s fine. The room itself is good, but towels are quite old and some were with holes, but everything clean. No hairdryer, not much space for clothes.
