We loved the slower pace of Tomar between our visits to Lisbon, Coimbra, and Porto.
Pros:

The breakfast was very nice in a beautiful setting. The location was amazing, right in the central square next to the church. The access road was very narrow but picturesque...not for a large car! The people were all friendly and sincerely gracious. We especially enjoyed talking to Valerie. She went out of her way to make our stay perfect. There is plenty to see and enjoy in Tomar, but in a much slower pace than Lisbon, Coimbra and Porto. We enjoyed the time.

Very nice hotel right at the main square
Pros:

Great location, right in the historic centre.
Big, comfy room, big bathroom, comfortable bed. Nice decor, feels posh ;)
Good breakfast, open buffet style.
Staff very nice and accommodating (except a single case, see below).

Cons:

The shower in our room was severely leaking from between the shower glass wall and the floor.

We booked the room around 11:40 pm, and tried to check in at midnight. There was a system issue, where our reservation was visible, but without the room assignment or proof of payment. The person at the reception desk was not very helpful and very stern (no smiles, not even in reciprocation), no explanations about the issue or next steps. This wasn't a great customer experience - but to be fair, I don't think this employee was a trained reception desk staff. I think he was a security guard, thrown into an unusual situation. Eventually though, another staff member was called, who handled things for us, and since then on everything has been peachy.

A very nice hotel in Tomar!
Pros:

It’s a beautiful hotel, very nicely decorated. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and told we had been given an upgraded room with a view on the square. We were lucky to have “box seats” for the 2 shows on the square. The breakfast was very nice!

Cons:

My only complaint is that you don’t give the address to the public parking ahead.
I got an email saying there was parking close by but we needed the address before arriving

The perfect place to explore Tomar and make new friends!
Pros:

The best thing about Hotel Republica is its staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful! I especially want to recognize Julia and Vera. We’d go back just to see them, but that’s not the only reason we’d stay there again. The location was great. Right in the historic square. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious! It was the perfect place to stay while we explored all Tomar had to offer! I highly recommend Hotel Republica!

A well-earned highest recommendation for this outstanding boutique hotel
Pros:

I stayed for 4 nights. This 5-star hotel keeps high standards for all facilities : great room size, beautifully equipped, very comfy bed, amazing bathroom, minibar, prime location with great view at Praça da República. Very good and complete breakfast. Smooth check-in and easy parking just around the corner (you'll receive a parking card).

What makes this hotel truly exceptional is its staff. During my stay, I was a bit under the weather for a couple of days. The lady who's working at the reception and breakfast was checking in with me every morning to see if she could help. All other staff were very attentive. This is the kind of hotel that doesn't make you feel as a mere hotel guest or customer but almost like part of a family. Muito obrigado e até breve!

Pros:

Fabulous location in the historic centre and only a ten minute walk up to the Convento de Christo. Our room had a wonderful view overlooking the square and cathedral. Our host was wonderful and made excellent wine bar and restaurant recommendations and took the time to work out what we were looking for. Great breakfast also. Highly recommend.

Excelente. Practica con parking a la vuelta de la esquina. Gran servicio. Gran desayuno. Cama comodisima. Buena ducha

El personal muy atento y amable. Incluso hicieron un desayuno muy especial para mi que soy celiaca. Panqueques y demas sin gluten!

Cons:

La decoración es un tanto excéntrica pero son tan amables, nos atendieron tan bien, la ubicación es perfecta y la camada comodisima, gran desayuno y buena ducha. Por eso no me importó
