Could have been better
Pros:

Breakfast and staff on that team excellent.
Bar service was good, iced water always available. Prices steep though, especially for a bottle of wine.
Management team don’t follow up on issues. Beer garden very shabby. Cigarette ends on wall along with weeds. All tables and chairs needed re varnishing or painting, look extremely shabby.

Cons:

Issue follow up and rectification.
Prices very high and miles to anywhere else.
Beer garden very shabby
Rooms very hot and only had smallish fans
Feels like the place needs a good refresh and bedrooms need redecorating.

Nice place. Management don’t handle issues well so beware
Pros:

Breakfast was really good, lots of choice. Cooked from scratch. Staff were lovely on the days we were there for breakfast.

Cons:

Booked 2 nights on 2 booking through Booking. Com. Very disappointed to say I was called twice after first night to say I hadn’t checked out and moved my luggage. Even worse the staff made out it was all my fault. No one told us we would need to change rooms after first night even though I made it clear at check in I had 2 bookings for 2 nights. Handled very badly by management. No apology given at any point. Ruined my 2nd day.

Pros:

Ausgesprochen freundliches Personal. Wirklich sehr zu empfehlen

Wonderful place for a stay on the Yorkshire countryside
Pros:

Lots of character, very clean and excellent location for our needs. The elderly gentleman in charge of the breakfast room was fantastic and the evening meal was really good.

Cons:

Unfortunately with being an old building there was no air con in our room, it wouldn’t stop me going back, I would just go at a cooler time of year. I wouldn’t want them to spoil the integrity of the building just for air con.

Fantastic dog friendly stay
Pros:

Friendly and warm welcome from all the staff, dogs were well looked after.
The room was brilliant, not too hot despite the heat. Loads of space and great tea/coffee tray with real milk provided.
Breakfast was a good selection of buffet items and hot options. The dogs loved their sausage!
Food in the pub was lovely too, roasts and bread n butter pudding!

Cons:

It's not cheap but worth it.
Roast could have done with more gravy.
No complaints otherwise!!
