It was a touch rulsey I guess.. breakfast had to be ordered the night before and opened quite late for an early riser.. most options were like a lunch or diner meal for us. The basics were lovely and a lot of it, fruit, toast, eggs, coffee etc.
Also the whole one key thing, it’s hot, really hot, so we left ours in the room to keep aircon on but had to get desk guy to let us in every time, it was fine but we felt annoying to him.
Glass wall to bathroom let a lot of light in at night, we hung towels along it.
We were in room with balcony which was noisy as it’s on the Main Street but it didn’t bother us.

Our room was located at the front of the building on the 2nd floor overlooking a high street which was extremely noisy. The sound insulation was non-existent and felt like we were sleeping in the street. The reservation on booking.com states the room is quiet which was false information: Also separating the bathroom with a velvet curtain was not ideal.

Very much a photoshoot location rather than a functioning hotel. It was expensive and we felt a bit ripped off to be honest. Everywhere you looked were influencers taking photos, staff sitting around on their phones, although the interactions we had with them were polite.
There is an overall creepy atmosphere backed up with ominous music which made the place feel like a set rather than the luxurious stay we were expecting.
We are no strangers to quirky heritage buildings, being from the UK and living in London - but this was just weird.
As everything was true antique/vintage the rooms weren’t functional, the drawers didn’t open, the shower flooded the room, the furniture was extremely fragile. The furniture was there for aesthetic and not fit for purpose.
The thing that bothered us the most was breakfast. We were asked on the spot when we arrived what we wanted for breakfast and it was 4pm in the afternoon and we had to decide right then and there, this continued each day asking what we wanted for breakfast at every opportunity at strange times for us to decide on the spot.
When said breakfast came, it was the strangest meal we’ve ever seen, and I don’t mean because we are western, it would be strange for anybody. Confit chicken which was delicious but in English gravy, a salad, roasted Sunday dinner vegetables with scrambled eggs?? My partner had the sausage and bacon, also doused in English gravy with a salad and vegetables - the sausage was very poor quality and these things just simply don’t work together. He had baked eggs with his which were raw and clearly microwaved with a random half cherry tomato and a single green bean. We didn’t eat anything from the hotel after that first breakfast.
So disappointed as we had just got engaged and this was supposed to be a real treat but we were itching to leave.
If I’m honest I’d like a refund for the poor experience we had.
