My recent 3-night stay at The Mustang Blu in Bangkok was absolutely fantastic. If you are looking for a hotel that breaks away from the standard cookie-cutter mold, this is the place. The property is wonderfully unique, filled with character, and offers a distinct aesthetic that you won't easily find anywhere else.
Beyond the stunning design, the level of service was exceptional. The staff were genuinely welcoming, attentive, and always ready to help, making the entire experience feel effortless. I place a high value on cleanliness, and I was deeply impressed—the room and the common areas were spotless and meticulously maintained throughout the stay. It provided the exact kind of quiet, comfortable, and restful environment I always appreciate after a long day out.
The location is another huge plus. It is situated in a great area right near Chinatown, making it incredibly convenient to explore the vibrant neighborhood, soak in the local atmosphere, and easily access excellent dining options nearby. Overall, a brilliant experience that perfectly balanced unique boutique charm with top-tier hospitality. I couldn't be happier with the stay and highly recommend it!
The rooms was really cool and desinged so well
The windows are not sound proof so u hear a bit of the car sound but it added to the charm of the accommodation and since our bathroom did not have shower cubicle After the shower the whole floor would be wet

The food was pretty exceptional, interesting and really well presented. Breakfast was a solid offering.
Coffee was very good.
Staff were very friendly and they really really try. The hotel is definitely unique in style.

The rooms fell short in many ways and therefore the hotel service just couldn't bridge that gap especially with the appearance that there was overall a lack of management (but the staff really really tried).
Bathrooms just needed a little bit more - a shelf or some storage space at the vanity, bathmats that aren't fraying at the seams, cleaned up edges, a pair of robe hooks, a better shower.
The room could do with a full length mirror, more secure safety box, the lack of a minibar or even a room service menu (with food being a highlight in this property), better storage for clothes & maybe a luggage rack?
The hotel didn't have an adaptor for our chargers (and I'd forgotten my travel adaptor), they didn't have a spare charger that worked & the hotel plug points weren't all secure in the bedroom walls.
I knew I needed a softer pillow, but after the adaptor questions, I didn't even bother to ask if they had other options. You just sort of understood what they could & couldn't do within half a day.
The shabby chic industrial interiors just couldn't cover the gaps it needs a little fine tuning & finishing - it just feels like a haunted house.
It's the sort of place you'd therefore stay in just once for the experience & not again. It reminded me why it's always safer to stay in the bigger hotels & it's just not good enough to sacrifice location....
Definitely not a family hotel - it's more suited for couples with the door-less bathrooms.
The light coming into the rooms in the early morning hours is quite severe, & the staff will chase you for the second half of your day to give your breakfast order for the following morning.....
If it was cheaper, I wouldn't have questioned the shortfalls as much, but for very little more we could have stayed in a 5 star hotel in the best part of town and had the comforts and basic amenities. It's a question of value.
Dette er en tidskapsel som må oppleves for å skjønne. I det man kommer inn og blir møtt av dramatisk musikk i den mørke lobbyen er man 100 år tilbake i tid. Hele tiden oppdager man nye ting.

Breakfast was wonderful. The decor is outstanding. The staff were fantastic. Great location. Check in was very easy. The bed was lovely and comfortable and I liked the eco toiletries.

Loved the art gallery/movie set decor, the history of the building is really interesting and the moody antique filled reno is fabulous in a strange way. Wouldn’t be for everyone but we loved it.

Was huge and nicely decorated with antiques, claw foot bath and all to their hotel branded products were done really well.
Great base to wander surrounding areas with delicious restaurants/bars, massages, street art, kwirky shopping etc. I felt very safe cruising around by myself while my daughter was finishing assignments.
The restaurant is visually amazing as is the presentation of the food and drinks.
Thank fresh coconut has me wanting to go back.
It was a touch rulsey I guess.. breakfast had to be ordered the night before and opened quite late for an early riser.. most options were like a lunch or diner meal for us. The basics were lovely and a lot of it, fruit, toast, eggs, coffee etc.
Also the whole one key thing, it’s hot, really hot, so we left ours in the room to keep aircon on but had to get desk guy to let us in every time, it was fine but we felt annoying to him.
Glass wall to bathroom let a lot of light in at night, we hung towels along it.
We were in room with balcony which was noisy as it’s on the Main Street but it didn’t bother us.
The decor on the ground floor were modern and u pique and felt like you were in a film set.
Our room was located at the front of the building on the 2nd floor overlooking a high street which was extremely noisy. The sound insulation was non-existent and felt like we were sleeping in the street. The reservation on booking.com states the room is quiet which was false information: Also separating the bathroom with a velvet curtain was not ideal.
