Wonderful, peaceful retreat in the Beijing Hutongs - highly recommended!
Pros:

Very friendly, kind and extremely helpful English speaking staff. Great hutong location. Large, calm and spotlessly clean room. Excellent meals.

Authentic small B&B in super area, with amazing staff who speak good english

Excellent in every way if you are looking for accommodation in Beijing that has a very Chinese style rather that just another big international brand hotel. The staff are super helpful, knowledgeable and very kind.

Enjoyable stay in the hutongs, very warm service
Pros:

The breakfast was excellent. We loved the choice at Toast, their mediterranean restaurant, and staff were also accommodating to special requests (an extra egg, additional coffee etc). Service in particular was warm and excellent, we mentioned in passing that we enjoyed the lapsang souchong tea in the room and were presented with a small tin of it as a takeaway gift when we checked out.

We've been to Beijing many times before and usually stay in the CBD, but wanted to experience staying in a hutong area, and loved that The Orchid allowed us to do so. Very nice to be able to observe and experience local life and flavours.

Cons:

Some parts of the room looked like they could do with a refresh. The decking in the toilet, as well as the wood surfaces in the kitchen and toilet had a bit of water damage.

It’s a really cosy, comfortable place that gives you “I’m at home” vibes. The staff is really committed to making sure you’re having a nice day, helpful with booking things, etc. Especially as it was my first time in China, this was like a warm bath.

The Orchid è un hotel situato nel bellissimo hutong di Bao Chao, a pochi passi dalla Torre del Tamburo e dalla Torre della Campana.
Gestito dallo staff in maniera impeccabile, è la chiave di volta per poter vivere nel migliore dei modi una vera esperienza a Pechino, osservandone i tratti architettonici e stilistici che la rendono unica al mondo.
La room garden in cui ho soggiornato per 9 notti era perfetta: grande, spaziosa, dotata di tutti i comfort: letto comodo con prese elettriche ad entrambi i lati, condizionatore, deumidificatore, armadio, ampio spazio con scrivania illuminata da una tettoia a vetro, bagno largo e doccia spaziosa. La televisione era molto grande ed erano presenti servizi streaming.
La pulizia durante tutto il soggiorno è stata impeccabile.
L'hotel mette in dotazione alle camere una bottiglia d'acqua e offre il refiller gratuito dell'acqua durante tutto il soggiorno.
La bellezza dell'hotel è poi impareggiabile: sia la hall che la sala per la colazione e con il rooftop sono meravigliose.
Ultima nota, lo staff: eccezionale, ogni componente. Preparato e socievole, sempre pronto a chiedere se avessimo bisogno di qualcosa. È stato sempre un piacere intrattenerci con loro, curiosi di sapere cosa avremmo fatto durante la giornata, pronti a darci consigli per migliorarci il soggiorno. Senza dimenticare i mici più belli del mondo, anche loro parte integrante dello staff! Assolutamente da provare se si decide di visitare questa splendida città.
