The room was too small and there were cigarettes smells in the room that was too hard. The bed had springs sticking out even after multiple complaints no response from them. They even asked for extra money even after confirming for early checkin. Shitty hotel
Nothing was good there.
Interesting location to walk around. A good restaurant downstairs.
The breakfast time is too late. Dark and dull atmosphere.
The hotel is in an excellent location on College Street, easily reachable by tram route 5 (which runs directly in front of the hotel), the blue metro (10 min walk) or any number of bus routes.
The staff is very relaxed, helpful and friendly. They are happy to assist with carrying luggage up to and down from the rooms (as there is no lift and the rooms are on the second floor). You can buy bottled water at any time from the nice gentlemen at the reception. Should you have to arrive late or depart early, the main door will be locked, but staff will be happy to unlock it for you.
The room is not too small. The double bed is large, clean and comfortable. Never had any issue with any animals / bugs getting into the room.
The bathroom is quite big and the warm water heater works well, as long as you don't forget to turn it on in time before your shower via the wall switch labelled "geyser". The shower arrangement takes some getting used to, as the whole bathroom floor serves as a shower cabin, but this is not a big problem.
There is a mini-fridge which works well.
The building is old and built well.
Only minor things:
The toilet paper holder is below the showerhead, so if you don't remove the toilet paper before showering, it will become drenched and unusable.
There is no toilet brush.
There is hardly any space to place utensils/toiletries and the bar of soap at the bathroom sink. There is a small glass shelf above the sink, but it is very small and inclined away from the wall, so things will slide off, especially if the soap has touched the shelf. Cleanliness could be a little bit better around the sink and shelf.

This is an excellent midrange hotel with all the basics right and a competent staff. The location is the outstanding feature - right on the College Road, with one of the best stretches of local food and shops we’ve enjoyed in India. One block away is the sprawling book market, could spend hours looking for bargains. We liked the peaceful College Square pool and garden close by, memories of the opening scenes in Life of Pi. It’s an easy walk to the metro, and we also walked to the flower market and took a ferry across the river for lunch at the train station.

Just missed having z place to relax over a drink in the evenings, either on the premises or a local place.

Staff good. Beds very comfortable.
Just a pity that there was no bar facility, a place to unwind together when we would come back in the evenings.
Ourside the hotel, very dirty with lots of stray dogs. Very offputting.

My early check in request was entertained and my family got a small room to fresh up and take some rest before they had decided to move ahead with their day tour. They followed up regularly on the call to check on me when we are going to come and all.
The location is nice since it is near to Howrah however the property looks shady and all the rooms are at 2nd and 3rd floor wth no facility of lifts. My early check in request was entertained however 20% of the token money was taken in advance over the call to make the booking final. We didn't like the rooms as they were very small, suffocating and a foul smell was coming out of bathroom. The vibes of the property was not good as well. My experience was bad and I ended up losing that token amount as penalty since it was the last minute cancellation. We found another property nearby.
