Very special place full of character and great staff.
Pros:

The breakfast was exceptional . Staff very hospitable . Excellent location . Room decor to a very high standard.It was very rainy during our stay it was good that we could borrow umbrellas .

A wonderful hotel with friendly staff.
Pros:

We were greeted by the most incredibly welcoming Luisa. All the staff were only too happy to help and ensure that you had everything you needed to make for a perfect stay. We had a fabulous stay and it is in an ideal location to explore Haarlem. The plans for changes sound amazing and hopefully we will return at some point to see the changes. We would have no hesitation
In recommending this Hotel to others, so many well thought out touches. Thank you for making the start of our Europe travel amazing!

Pros:

I absolutely adored the building and its interiors, they’ve done a wonderful job preserving it while also clearly and thoughtfully sharing its history. The breakfast was amazing, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. We were also pleasantly surprised to be offered a bottle of champagne, which was a lovely touch. On top of that, the location is fantastic.

Cons:

As lovely as the room was, with its high ceiling and exposed beams, opening the curtains meant looking directly into rooms opposite, which felt a bit uncomfortable. The room was also quite small for the price paid. I understand that it may be due to the Easter weekend and rising demand, but I did find the price for one night to be excessive.

Cons:

The rooms are beautiful but it’s not fully ready for guests that are willing to pay a high price. An AC would have been good.

Overall, our 3-night stay at Hotel 1635 was a good entry to Haarlem.
Pros:

Location was great. Staff were outstanding. Loved the building's history.

Cons:

Only furniture was the bed and 3 small stools. Would have really liked a chair with a back and some type of furniture in which to put clothes. We had to live out of our suitcases on the floor. There is an elevator now which was appreciated, especially as the stairs are a safety issue.

You won’t be disappointed here!
Pros:

We loved everything about this historic boutique hotel. First of all the friendly service of Lars & Luisa who looked after us for our 3 night stay was exceptional. The room we had chosen was large & the bed was super comfortable. There is a lift and the decor is classy. The breakfast is simple, fresh and coffee good. It is a 10 minute walk to train station (we chose Haarlem as our base) We would not hesitate to recommend this fabulous hotel.

Wahnsinnig freundliches und hilfsbereites Personal. Kurze Führung mit Erklärung zum Hotel und dessen Besonderheiten. Wunderschönes Zimmer im Altstil, sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Insgesamt eine tolle Erinnerung!

Pros:

The location is great for anyone wanting to explore Haarlem, or to have access to Amsterdam without being in the middle of it. I opted in for the breakfast and am really happy I did. The staff are incredibly helpful and kind as well -- they helped make the stay as great as it was as a solo traveler.

Prima locatie in het centrum

Cons:

Elke ochtend hetzelfde ontbijt. Iets anders was wel mogelijk, bijv. een spiegelei, maar je moest er wel om vragen. Ook is het wel fijn in je eigen hotel ‘‘s avonds nog even een drankje te kunnen doen.

Lovely, enjoyable - you won’t regret choosing this hotel!
Pros:

This hotel is fabulous! The staff, room, location, breakfast - all stellar - and made for a wonderful visit to the Netherlands! I would highly recommend - and would someday love to return! Haarlem is a terrific base location for getting anywhere you want to go (both train and bus) and this hotel in particular is located very close to sites, shopping, history (including the hotel’s own), food, and convenience!!

There isn’t anything we didn’t like about this facility or location!!
