MIST Boutique Hotel

After reading the most recent reviews on Google Maps and Booking.com, I started to realize that there seems to be a recurring issue with how bookings are handled at this hotel.

We booked our stay last minute through Booking.com after having already experienced a scam with a previous accommodation, so this time we specifically booked a suite because we wanted to avoid any further problems. We chose it based on the description, photos, and the fact that we were paying for a suite.

A few days later, I was contacted via WhatsApp by the “hotel manager” — not through Booking.com. She told me that their “channel manager” had made a mistake and that the price of the suite listed on Booking.com was incorrect. She then asked whether we wanted to keep the suite by paying a higher price, or whether we preferred to be moved to the room corresponding to the amount we had already paid.

I find this explanation very difficult to believe. After looking at other recent reviews, it seems that we are far from the only guests who have experienced issues involving bookings and pricing. I obviously cannot say exactly what is happening behind the scenes, but I do think there is a serious lack of transparency.

Regardless, if a hotel makes a pricing or booking mistake, the responsibility for resolving it should not be placed on the customer. We booked and paid for a suite, specifically chose it based on the photos and description, and reasonably expected to receive what we had booked. Instead, we were essentially told that we had paid for something that we might no longer be given.

Since we needed accommodation in Yerevan and did not want to deal with yet another last-minute problem, we ultimately accepted the situation.

Then came the check-in.

When we arrived at the hotel, no one opened the door. Someone from the bar next door eventually opened it for us. There was also no one at reception, which, again, seems to be something mentioned repeatedly in other reviews.

The rubbish was collected only once during our 6-day stay, and the sheets were never changed. The room is opened with a regular key rather than a key card, which is a bit unusual. The A/C is quite old. There is almost no space to hang coats or store other clothes. Towards the end of our stay, there was a sewage smell coming from the toilet/bathroom. There was also no safe in the room.

Abbiamo prenotato tramite Booking il 10 aprile 2026 per 4 notti, dal 14 al 18 agosto.

Il 10 agosto, appena quattro giorni prima dell’arrivo, la struttura ci invia tramite Booking una richiesta di cancellazione. Non avendo alternative, la rifiutiamo e la prenotazione rimane regolarmente confermata.

Il 14 agosto arriviamo a Erevan e scopriamo che la nostra camera è stata assegnata a qualcun altro. La titolare sostiene che avremmo dovuto accettare la cancellazione. Chiediamo almeno un’alternativa, ma ci viene detto che l’hotel è completamente pieno per tutta la settimana successiva.

Risultato: alle 20:00, ci ritroviamo senza camera nonostante una prenotazione confermata da quattro mesi. Solo verso le 22:00 troviamo un’altra sistemazione.

Il giorno dopo, per verificare quanto ci era stato detto, contatto la struttura su WhatsApp da un altro numero chiedendo disponibilità per quella stessa notte. La titolare risponde che una camera era stata prenotata poco prima e che avrebbe dovuto verificare se quegli ospiti confermavano. Una risposta difficilmente compatibile con quanto ci era stato detto la sera precedente, cioè che l’hotel fosse pieno per tutta la settimana.

Possiamo solo ipotizzare che la nostra prenotazione, fatta con largo anticipo a un prezzo conveniente, non sia stata rispettata per assegnare la camera a condizioni più vantaggiose. Non possiamo sapere con certezza il motivo, ma i fatti sono chiari: hanno tentato di farci cancellare pochi giorni prima e, dopo il nostro rifiuto, hanno comunque dato la nostra camera a qualcun altro.

Un comportamento inaccettabile. Una prenotazione confermata dovrebbe garantire un posto dove dormire, non costringere il cliente a cercare disperatamente un altro hotel la sera dell’arrivo.

Esperienza pessima e totale perdita di fiducia. Non consiglierei questa struttura a nessuno.

No acabé de entender el sistema de personal de trabajo; el caso es que casi nunca había nadie en la recepción, pero cualquier persona del bar te atendía, en función de que te entendiese, que no era lo habitual, por el idioma y/o porque parecían "ausentes" (parecía un grupo de amigos gestionando todo el complejo). Nuestra habitación daba a la terraza del bar; solía haber ruido, pero soportable. Lo que nos llamó infinito la atención es que tuvimos dos estancias, una de 5 noches y la otra de 3 y la penúltima noche hubo gente en el bar hasta las 6 de la mañana, lo que implicaba gente en la terraza hasta entonces. Soportable el ruido, para mí, insisto. No obstante, la última noche, fuimos casi a la una al bar a tomar una cerveza y la persona que ese día atendía la barra nos dijo que el bar estaba cerrado, que cerraban a las doce. Le comenté que la noche anterior habían estado hasta las seis de la mañana, entonces me contestó "It was Friday night, you know?", el caso es que yo ni tengo que saber ni tengo por qué entender ni aguantar el ruido hasta las seis de la mañana (la semana anterior, el domingo hubo carcajadas hasta las 3, you know?). Nos puso la cerveza sólo si pagábamos en efectivo, finalmente. Así lo hicimos y con el mismo desconcierto, dejamos el hotel al día siguiente.

Non ho apprezzato il fatto che la mia stanza si affacciasse proprio sul giardino, dove la sera c’era confusione, facevano aperitivo e fumavano fino a tardi e non ho mai potuto aprire la tenda della stanza per far entrare un po’ di luce perché la stanza affacciava proprio sul giardino. Inoltre, nei cinque giorni che ho soggiornato ho dormito molto male perché non riuscivo a regolare l’aria condizionata che o era troppo forte o era troppo bassa eppoi il materasso era troppo morbido.
