Pros:

Amazing location, fab service from each and every single member of staff- nothing felt like too much trouble! Breakfast was great, loved that it was included. Must visit the restaurant downstairs, the food and service were amazing! I couldn’t recommend this hotel enough for a stay in Varenna

Lovely place in the heart of Varenna
Pros:

Great location on a beautiful square in the centre of Varenna. We booked a balcony room and had a lovely balcony across the whole front of the hotel - amazing views. Friendly welcome, we ate dinner one night and it was lovely.

Cons:

Breakfast was a bit limited (although coffee was excellent)

Very disappointing basic standard of overpriced accomodation - wouldn't stay again or recommend
Pros:

I was very disappointed with this accomodation as I found that this was not a hotel, but a small collection of rooms above a bistro. The rooms were grossly overpriced for the standard of accomodation offered. The basic double room at the rear of the property was disappointing as the timber floor was sticky (due to deterioration of the floor's surface coating), the ceiling consisted of exposed insulation, and the view from the window was an ugly outlook over the grubby glass roof of the downstairs breakfast room. The room itself was clean as was its fresh and modern bathroom. Breakfast was very basic with a small range of breakfast foods - the croissants appeared to be stale as they were neither crisp nor flaky. Staff were the bistro staff and the "reception" desk was simply the desk at which bistro patrons paid for their meal. I had lunch in the bistro and the food was fine, but ordinary. Luckily, I'd only booked a one night stay and I was very glad to hop back onto the local ferry and sail back to Bellagio to stay at luxury Hotel du Lac &Spa overlooking Lake Como where the room tariff was only a few euros more per night than than at the basic and dismal Albergo del Sole in Varenna.

Cons:

Very basic room at a premium, luxury price point. Property did not appear to be a hotel, but was a small collection of rooms above a bistro. Absolutely no facilities other than the room itself (and the downstairs bistro). Substandard breakfast. Extremely poor value for very high price. More like a hostel than a hotel. Would not recommend to others.

Good location, close to tourist spots, the restaurant food is beyond my expectations
Pros:

They have single room available! The view from the bedroom window was nice, and the food in the restaurant is really good, actually beyond my expectation! The price is very reasonable too! It’s nice to have dinner at the hotel after a long day of walking and sweating, it’s convenient and relaxing!

Cons:

No safe in the room, the building is old so the electricity was gone a couple of times in my room when I was using the hairdryer, but the problem was fixed easily by turning on the switch again in the panel in the room! Overall it’s a pleasant stay!

Great small hotel
Pros:

Excellent location in Varenna. Lovely small hotel with only 8 rooms. Our room (6) was facing the square but was still quiet at night. Big room and recently renovated. Great breakfast and freshly made eggs to order. Popular lunch and dinner restaurant is on the ground floor.

Cons:

WiFi was adequate but intermittent. We were told that fibre is arriving in October, so no more problems after that.

Pros:

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The breakfast was delicious with a good variety of options. The staff were extremely kind, friendly, and always willing to help. The location is excellent, situated in a prime area with easy access to nearby attractions and transportation. The room was clean, comfortable, and perfectly suitable for a solo traveler. Overall, it offers great value for money with good view.
