Geräumiges Zimmer und gutes Essen

Wir haben im Hotel Grandcafe De Doelen im Rahmen einer mehrtägigen Fahrradtour übernachtet.
Das Hotel liegt sehr schön im Zentrum von Franeker an einem großen Platz direkt an der Martinikerk. Unser Zimmer war groß und gut ausgestattet. Für Fahrräder gibt es einen verschlossenen Abstellraum. Das Frühstück war sehr gut, es wurde am Platz im Restaurant serviert. Auch das Abendessen können wir empfehlen, gute Auswahl und sehr schmackhaft.
Wir würden dieses Hotel wieder wählen.

Cons:

Unser Zimmer lag über der deutlich hörbaren Küchenlüftung mit entsprechenden Küchengerüchen nachmittags und am Abend. Nach Küchenschluss wurde die Lüftung aber abgestellt, so dass es nachts im Zimmer sehr ruhig (und ohne Gerüche) war. Also alles ok, wenn man sich nicht nachmittags/abends bei geöffnetem Fenster im Zimmer aufhalten möchte.

Great hotel to discover Franeker but not comfortable for warm summer nights.
Pros:

The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location next to the church (and the fountain) is excellent. Breakfast was fabulous and served at the table.

Cons:

The room does not have airco, and the windows only allow for a small opening. Moreover, the outlet of the airco in the restaurant downstairs is right next to the hotel room, thus making it even warmer and very noisy.

Een prima verblijf op een aangename plek. Met een kleine opknapbeurt zou het nog beter zijn.
Pros:

Het hotel met terras ligt midden in de stad. De ruime kamer was koel, terwijl het een snoeihete dag was. Fijn om buiten op het terras te kunnen borrelen en eten na een lange, warme, fietstocht!

Cons:

De opgang naar de kamer is rommelig en het geheel kan wel een verfbeurt gebruiken.
