Kids pool area is amazing, so is kids club and the nannies on site. Staff are all so lovely. Waitui beach club for the adults super relaxing and great cocktails. Also has a great hotel gym.
Beds have some of the most uncomfortable mattresses I’ve ever slept on, not up to usual Sofitel standard. If they replaced the mattresses it would be very hard to find a reason not to go back every year!
Staff were just lovely, especially with kids. Kids club great option. Family room with bunk beds was perfect. The pool was awesome and spacious. Kids loved the inflatables and fire dance show. Lots of kids activities throughout the day. Restaurant food delicious. Breakfast was great too. Fiji airways have desk at reception, so easy to check in there, not at airport. Location close to airport which helped with early departure flight. Walking distance to Port Denarau.
There were two weddings on two consecutive nights out the front of our room in family room area. Finished up around 10pm so not too bad.
Someone smoking on their balcony. Front desk did say that wasn't allowed, but I only mentioned at check out. Remember to pay everything in FJD, otherwise you get pinged with conversion fees (on top of CC surcharge).
Layout and access to beach and amenities was excellent. Elegant rooms and the staff provided a superior customer experience. The chef provided phenomenal culinary choices.
The customer service was outstanding. The facilities were immaculate and the food and drinks were amazing. We're already planning our return trip to Sofitel. 10/10.
The staff. They were the most friendly welcoming and helpful people. They were all very happy and did their utmost to accommodate anything we required.
The Waitui Plus Club room. Ground floor. It was badly designed, had dingey lighting, the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in. Their was absolutely NO drawers for unpacking clothes, so had to live out of a suitcase, hated it. The room was constantly dark and we had to have the main lights on most of the time we were there. Bathroom had really subdued lighting, just a strip along the back wall. The only electrical outlet in the rediculous bathroom set up was way over to the left hand side, making hair grooming extremely awkward, as most people are right handed. The patio was dirty with bird droppings on the furniture and never once swept clean, we couldn't use it, was very gross and my husband saw mice run across it. We paid over FJD $16k for our 9 day stay. The only time I formally complained about anything was on day 7, as no housekeeping services showed up to clean our room since day 2. Our rubbish bin was overflowing, had no clean towels and bedding not changed at all. They said bedding would be changed every 3 days, this did not happen and we were forced to keep foot wear on in the room due to no floor cleaning. I didnt think to take photos but i regret this as i would've put them up with this review. We Will NEVER return to this place.
Everything from location to restaurants
Friendly staff!!
Small room
The staff, food and quality of service was 10/10. The location was perfect and the resort was beyond what we expected.
Another all round very enjoyable stay. We've been 5 times since the hotel opened as well as staying at other Denarau resorts during that time. Always a relaxing experience
Hotel needs to sort out transport to the golf club and stop saying they can't take guests because of an agreement with the local taxis.
We loved the daily activities available for everyone, especially the kids activities. We want to shout out to all the staff there, they are all so nice and very helpful. Especially Zack, he was so patients with our kids and made their holiday a lot more fun. They also have live music at night from Thu-Sun at Suka Bar, this is great spot to just sit and relax before ending the night. Lastly, we loved the massage at the Spa. One of the best massages I've ever had.
The wifi around the pool area is not so great. And there is only 1 restaurant open during the day, we stayed for a week and it felt like we were eating almost the same thing. There is only 1 Asian restaurant in the resort which by the way all the dishes we tried tasted so good. However, it only opens for dinner. My son loves his rice, so he had the same thing for almost a week. Wish they also have Asian food options during the day.
Check in and check out was great experience. Gardens and lawns beautiful. Staff remembered your names. Journal lounge was great and staff attentive.
Two dining experiences Waitui and Madam So was not great given the prices.
The staff were friendly and it was very clean!
The rooms always smelt musty and I thought the buffet could have been changed up a bit!
I also think being a family hotel they should have a restaurant suitable for families.
Staff were amazing. Beautiful grounds and having Fiji air check-in is great.
Unfortunately I don’t see this as a 5 star resort like Others we have stayed in. I have dietary restrictions and informed staff when ordering to omit certain foods and on 2 occasions my meal arrived with foods and I am unable or eat. When I returned one it came back correct but cold.
For a hotel Like Sofitel I was surprised at the beds. I had to add a pillow to the bed where my body lies to fill in the dip in the mattress where it sank. (I did tell staff about this )
Further the pillow was horrendous so I had to pay $80 bond to get another pillow where other hotels just offer them to you.
The pool is big and lovely but has multiple inflatables for kids so if you want a quiet swim I suggest go adults only area which we did at another resort and should have done here.
Location, beach and pool. Lovely grounds. Staff very kind and helpful.
Buffet dinners a bit expensive.
The location and the staff are super friendly
Nothing it was perfect
