Great location and facilities. Resturant service spot on.
Pros:

Although dated this place has lots of great facilities with the pool being a brilliant feature.
We ate in the restaurant which was a set menu at exceptional value for money, the food a high standard. Breakfast included was hot and cold buffet, couldn’t find fault in the offering here! Perfect location for the tourist attractions we were visiting over the weekend. Staff were attentive and welcoming.

Cons:

Needs modernising, while clean not immaculate. It was very warm so air con or a fan in the room would’ve helped.

Good place to relax and unwind.
Pros:

The leisure complex is great, well maintained medium sized indoor and ouside pool, good sauna (again inside an a small external barrel sauna) and a steam room. The rooms were clean with comfortable beds and furniture. The resteraunt was interment with exceptionally good food. Plenty of places to relax in the bar lounge areas. Externally the grounds were extensive with interesting features, eg well stocked pond water feature and nice accent lighting to outside sitting areasStaff were very helpful and friendly.

Cons:

Other reviews mentioned tired decor which was apparent, but appeared more an indication of well occupied accommodation. The gardens could have done with some attention, and the tennis court probably not a feature to recommend with tired asphalt an an area of collapsing fence.

Lovely hotel, really enjoyed our stay
Pros:

Lovely hotek, setting and grounds. The staff were amazing. Very friendly and very willing to help. The spa was great, very clean and lots of different areas. Rooms were clean. Food was lovely. Grounds were superb and well maintained.

Cons:

The carpets! All a bit dated, very 70s'. Although clean, the whole place could do with an upgrade.
Check in wasnt until 2pm. Understand that but we were shown our rooms at 12 ... they were ready to use so a little annoying that we had to kill time until 2pm.

This place couldn't have contrasted more strongly with the Halfway Inn up the road
Pros:

Althought very dated, the room was clean and surprisingly comfortable and had all the basic amenities you'd need for a night's stay (including iron and board upon request). The barman that served us was friendly and approachable.

Cons:

Arriving at breakfast at 9.55am, we were met with a sigh and told "good luck" finding any food. If staff are going to be that put out, I suggest that it's made clear to guests that clean-up begins well before breakfast ends at 10am. The reception staff, although much more polite, were apparently unable to help us with calling a taxi. Although they did provide us with a list of numbers, and obviously can't be held responsible for the weather or our disorganisation, we did have to spend a stressful hour in full wedding guest attire roaming around in the wind and wet trying to find signal (the wifi was surprisingly poor) whilst they spectated. This experience couldn't have contrasted more strongly with the Halfway Inn up the road, where we stayed the following night (and which offers cheaper rates), which was staffed by friendly and helpful people who made us feel really welcome and valued.
