Family rooms can accommodate 2 adults and one child, or 2 adults and 2 children. The rooms are not suitable for more than 2 adults.
The credit/debit card used to book a pre-paid rate must be presented to reception on arrival at the hotel. Please note that failure to do so will result in an alternative payment method being required.
Please be aware that some restaurants including Spey Burger at Macdonald Aviemore Resort will be seasonal, but at least one of our restaurants will be open during low season
For guests staying on a Dinner, Bed and Breakfast package you can enjoy a £25 spend towards food in one of our restaurants. "Children aged 12 and under can stay and take breakfast for free when sharing a suitable room with two adults. Child dinner will be charged separately dependent on menu chosen"

Please be aware that Thunder in the Glens event will be taking place on resort from the 22nd - 24th August 2025 inclusive. This event will cause elevated noise levels due to being a motorcycle event, and there will also be live music being played around the resort until late evening.Please inform of your expected arrival time in advance. You can use the Special Requests box when booking, or contact the property directly using the contact details in your confirmation.

Das Bett (Doppelbett) im Zimmer war sehr bequem. Im Zimmer war es auch sehr ruhig (kein Straßenlärm), man hat leider alles gehört, was die Nachbarn gesprochen haben. Indoor Spielplatz & Pool der Anlage waren perfekt für Regentage, es gab auch ausreichend Spielmöglichkeiten für Kinder.
Das Frühstück war enttäuschend. Ich habe (fast) noch nie so wenig Auswahl bei einem Buffet gesehen. Für ein so teures Hotel würde ich deutlich mehr erwarten. Die Sauberkeit war grenzwertig - der Teppichboden hat ausgesehen, als müsste er dringend erneuert werden (oder bräuchte eine Grundreinigung). Genauso das Ausziehbett/Sofa - das war super unbequem und (wie der Rest des Hotels) schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Die Reinigung der Zimmer erfolgt theoretisch jeden Tag, praktisch wird jedoch nur das gemacht, worauf das Personal Lust hat. Betten wurden nicht gemacht, Tee/Kaffee/Milch wurden mehrere Tage lang nicht aufgefüllt, Handtücher wurden auch nur sehr sporadisch ausgetauscht.
Location is great as walking distance from centre of Aviemore and activities
Rooms very run down, walls were disgusting with splatters all over from previous customers. Not much in the way of entertainment in the evening.
Facilities like swimming pool soft play. Also disco. Kids loved it.
Not clean. Dust inside the wardrobe like it wasn’t been cleaned for a long time also bath there was a lot of hair in the drain. Never got room clean until late afternoon too. When complained to reception staff they seemed they did really cared. Was very disappointed. Other staff were great apart reception.
It was nice plenty of choice
The swimming pool life guards one of the days the 2 females stood and chatted and were not watching what was happening in the pool
The housekeeping and bar staff were not the friendliest
I like the environment like it surrounded by trees.
We stay there during summer, it's hot and if a fan is provided it would be very much appreciated.

The staff in the hotel at reception are rude.
We liked the bed as it was comfy. You'd better choose which restaurant you want to eat at, as there was one restaurant from the McDonald's group ( golf) where it was acceptable food even for me, as I'm on a gluten-free diet.
We stayed the week starting 13th July 2026. Even though breakfast was tasty, we were surprised that the second room where breakfast was served had more food options. I was disappointed that it was not much choice for ceoliacs as i am gluten-free. It was very disappointing that they advertised on their bar menu that they have gluten-free food, but when we ordered it, the staff apologised to us for the food not being gluten-free. Then I was disappointed to be sent to the pub for ice instead of the receptionist doing it for me, as I came down with an ice bucket for ice. It was my birthday week, and I was seriously very disappointed by all this. The receptionist was talking to someone about a private matter, so he could be kind enough to fill in the ice bucket so I did not have to wait in the pub for everyone to be served and then to get ice. Even his colleague said the same to me.
Female receptionist was extremely rude. I used to work at Randolph Hotel in Oxford many years ago, but I have never experienced such a rude person. From entering the hotel she refused to read my printed booking and tried to humiliate me for giving her the printed booking. I can read and speak, but I preferred for her to read it. Not everyone needs to know my name and surname. Then, when other elderly guests struggled with the window, and I came to tell the same female receptionist about that, she said : ,,I am busy What is wrong with them.'' So rude. Even when I was a receptionist, I would never say that. I wish that I could talk to her and explain to her how it was obvious to me that she was not suitable for the job she was doing and she was a very rude person. You never said to any customer '' What is wrong with you.'' and '' I am busy.'' Obviously, with this approach of hers, she cannot go any further than what I did in my career. After experiencing this, I am glad that I do not work for this hotel group, as it has changed a lot, as I can see.
